Established in 2012, the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI) is a not-for-profit organization that serves as a beacon of economic collaboration among BRICS+ nations and partner countries. The prime focus of the Women Empowerment Vertical of BRICS CCI, BRICS CCI WE which came into existence in the year 2020 is to create an enabling support system for women entrepreneurs and professionals across geographies.Ms. Ruby Sinha, the President of BRICS CCI WE is an accomplished professional, entrepreneur, development worker and has many other feathers of achievement in her hat. She is the Founder of sheatwork, a one-stop knowledge hub for women entrepreneurs globally and an award-winning brand communications firm. She is also a part of the Entrepreneurship Think Tank of the Management & Entrepreneurship & Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) of the Government of India. A former journalist, she also expresses her views in leading publications on women’s entrepreneurship. In this enlightening tete-e-tete, the audience with not only get to understand the work of the BRICS CCI women’s wing, delve into the cauldron of prejudices and biases faced by women, but will also know how Ruby, being an empowered woman herself, aspires to empower other women. Being the first woman to join the Indian Police Service as an officer, she has indeed been a trailblazing police officer and also a fearless reformer. Additionally, she has also served as LT. Governor of Puducherry and is the founder of Navjyoti India Foundation and India Vision Foundation.In this podcast Dr. Kiran Bedi highlights the urgency of accelerating gender equality. Being at forefront in this space, she agrees to have witnessed humongous acceleration toward creating a gender equitable society, but acknowledges, that there is still a long way to go.
