Explicit content warning
03/13/20 • 19 min
In this SeaBros "Fish Story" Podcast Episode, we sit down with our good friend and fellow captain, Frank Pitten (previously on episode 007: Intensity).
Frank is an incredible story teller, and in this episode he discusses an amazing day of blue marlin fishing down in the Dominican Republic with fellow charter captain and friend Paco Vela (@vela_paco). On this particular day, they were fishing the FADs (Fish Attracting/Aggregating Devices) about 30 miles offshore of the DR. They ended 7 for 12 on blues for the day, all in the 180-250lb range. 2 of the fish came from a double header.
While fighting one of those marlin, a local commercial boat charged their boat and took their fish from them to be sold! This is a story you don't want to miss!

Capt. Greg Sears - The OG
In this episode Bryan (@mbgbryan) and Taylor (@mbgtaylor) sit down with their Dad, the one and only Captain Greg Sears...Or as most people know him OG..."Old Greg".
OG is truly the definition of a renaissance man. He has done A LOT in his life. He has explored much of the world and is obsessed with mastering anything that he tries and becomes passionate about. In regards to fishing and running businesses, he has over 20 years of experience running a multi-boat charter fishing fleet (@massbayguides). Prior to starting Mass Bay Guides, he worked aboard many different charter and commercial boats throughout Massachusetts. He also owned and ran a construction company for many years as Bryan and Taylor were growing up. On top of all of that, he is an amazing father.
This podcast begins with OG talking about his early years, growing up on the North and South Rivers of MA, talking about what has changed since the 60s and 70s, comparing it to our current fisheries.
OG also spent 6+ years in the United States Coast Guard. He tells a few tales about his time in the military, specifically about his time living in Kodiak, Alaska working aboard a USCG icebreaker. Being in the Coast Guard also brought him back to the South Shore of Massachusetts, spending his final years running small boats out of the Scituate, MA station.
OG's sense of humor is certainly one of his best qualities. Filterless and hilarious. There is no shortage of fish stories, charter stories, and jokes in this one!
If you want a good laugh and some good advice, you do not want to miss this episode with Old Greg!
