Dan has standard two spoopy stories for you this week. The first is a modern encounter set in the Missouri State Penitentiary. We will go over its long history of infamous prisoners and its paranormal lore as well before ending with the encounter tale. Then we go to Pendleton, South Carolina to check out some claims coming from the supposedly haunted Woodburn plantation. Lynze has two stories for us this week and both have a similar theme. The first up is the tale of a watchful soldier and then the second, a less than desirable situation when a cop pulls someone over.

Dan's first story to share this week revolves around a clock. While it might not sound so scary, it's actually terrifying. Could a clock be built as an occult object? Could it have some sort of demonic entity attached to it? Let's find out! Next, the story of a ton of UFO sightings coming from Italy in October of 1954. Could roughly 10,000 people have all seen the same UFOs at a football match? Lynze has some animal themed tales this week, which is kind of funny but not really. Her first story features a bunny, which is known to be a symbol of the underworld. What was this particular bunny up to? And then, her worst nightmare, frogs! What is going on with these frogs throwing themselves up against a window? Tune in and find out!

Then a collection of paranormal sightings in Plainfield, Wisconsin, that all revolve around the ghosts of either murderer Ed Gein - his mother, or his victims. Lynze has the most terrifying tale of the week with the folklore of The Whistler. YIKES!

The setting for Dan's first story is a Murder Mystery party. The premiss: since everyone is in costume, what if someone there is someone you don’t know. Someone... not alive. In his second story Dan shares the short tale of man haunted by a few weeks of terrible nights from his childhood. Jeff Burton was a long time staple on The Rizzuto Show, a show that has supported Dan and Timesuck and Bad Magic for a long time. Jeff recently passed away after a grueling fight against cancer. Even while Jeff was fighting for his life, he made it a priority to raise money for Kids Rock Cancer. Kids Rock Caner is an innovative program that helps children successfully cope with the unique emotional challenges that accompany a cancer diagnosis. Through the proven healing power of music therapy, Kids Rock Cancer helps children combat feelings of anxiety, depression, uncertainty and helplessness. Jeff was just 55 years old. He is survived by his wife, Juli and their two daughters, Abby and Casey.

Dan has a longer amount of story content this week, getting us ready for Halloween! A murderous monster from South America and a disturbing disappearance from North America. We don’t want to give too much away about either. The first, if anyone is familiar, revolves around La Patasola, a vampiric entity that allegedly dwells in the forests of Columbia. And the second story is the 1981 disappearance of an Ohio woman named Cindy Anderson. Lynze also has a huge amount of horror this week! Her first tale is the strange tale of a young woman who meets a household ghost that seems to be stuck in one portion of the house. Then, to close out the episode, Lynze tells us about a very creepy doll family that feels all too real.

Lynze's second story is a doozy! But first, she shares with us a slightly different tale where a fan submits a funny version of being a Darren. It's a gem of a story. Her second tale is just down right creepy.

The Elevator Game

Dan's first story is about South Korea’s The Elevator Game. Is this nothing more than an urban legend? Or could this modern encounter story I’ll be sharing possibly be true? Could performing this elevator-based ritual somehow allow you to enter what sounds like Hell? The next story is the legend of The Curse of Ca’Dario. A Venetian mansion, built in the late 15th century, that might actually be cursed or at least extremely haunted. Lynze will explore predictive dreams, a concept that seems to rarely come up on STDP, in her first story. It's hard to know when dreams are telling us the future or predicting or are just coincidental. The final story of this week is a creepy cabin tale. A man takes some time away from his life to find himself but does he find so much more than he bargained for?

Dan has a very long story followed by a very short one. The long story revolves around a social worker growing suspicious that something is really, really not right at the home of one of her clients. And when she checks on the kids, that suspicion is really, REALLY confirmed. Next some lore and a modern paranormal encounter out in the woods of Connecticut on the supposedly haunted, and abandoned, Downs Road. Lynze has three tales to share this week. Her first one is about some unwanted but possibly harmless visitors. Her second story has Dan and Lynze pondering the intersection of mental health and the paranormal. Lastly, a quick story about a possible energy vampire!

Bad Magic Productions Monthly Patreon Donation: For the month of July, we decided to use the monthly donation to support The Hill Country Humane Society. Located in rural Texas, they serve a population of people who can hardly afford healthcare for themselves. The shelters are beyond capacity and Texas ranks high (top 1 or 2, depends on where you look for the stats) in the nation for euthanizing animals. The secretary of this foundation reached out to months ago, explaining that one of the best ways the Hill Country Human society could help slow the overpopulation of animals in the shelter is to spay and neuter pets. But being that they serve a low income area, that is often out of the question for owners. With this donation, we are hoping to ease the burden of pet owners in this area, as this organization is in the middle of building a mobile spay/neuter clinic. Dan has one of the most terrifying stories he has had in a while. Four residents of a memory care clinic die under rather suspicious circumstances in close proximity to one another and all after seeing a little boy with black eyes outside their window. Then in his second story, we go with Dan as he explores the haunted tales of the rooms at the Battery Carriage House Inn. Lynze has one big tale this week. It all seems to start with a disgruntled family member who may have placed a curse upon another family member. The sighting of the hat man would be the first confirmation that more than one family member is seeing things they had not seen before. The plot thickens from there!
