Spooky Season: Unexplained Cattle Mutilations 🐮
10/12/22 • 33 min
4 Listeners
Bizarre cases of cattle, horses, and other livestock being killed and mutilated under highly unusual - usually bloodless - circumstances have been reported all over the United States since at least the 1970s.
But mysterious mutilations of livestock aren't confined to the 1970s, or to the United States for that matter. Similar cases involving sheep, cows, and horses have been reported as far back as the early 17th century and as recently as 2022.
The problem is so pervasive that there have been TWO independent federal investigations into the phenomena by the FBI and ATF. Both investigations failed to identify the culprit... or culprits?
While we don't know who (or what) is responsible, we do know that this is a Spooky Season episode for the books!

Spooky Season: Skin Walkers 👀
We're baaaaack! After taking some time off for summer break, we are SO excited to be back at it, just in time for our favorite holiday - Halloween! We missed you a ton, but we're really excited to share what we have been working on for the last few months.
To kick off Spooky Season, we're talking about Skin Walkers. These malevolent, shapeshifting beings are so evil that many Indigenous Peoples such as the Navajo refuse to even speak of them.
Although little is known about these cryptids by outsiders, it's more than enough to make your skin crawl.

Spooky Season: Aileen Wuornos 👠
What drives a woman to kill? And what drives her to do it six more times? Aileen Wuornos killed and robbed seven men between December 1989 and November 1990.
Aileen, a sex worker at the time, claimed that these men had either raped or attempted to rape her, saying that the homicides were committed in self-defense.
But was it really self-defense? Or was Aileen truly a cold-blooded serial killer, hell-bent on murdering the men paying her for sex? The answer isn't as black and white as you might believe.
This week, we're taking a closer look at Aileen's traumatic childhood, tumultuous adulthood, her crimes, and the events that followed.
