The Cheerleader Murder: Kirsten Costas

Pretty and popular 15-year-old Kirsten Costas had it all. She was the teenage dream at Miramonte High School in Orinda, California in the 1980's. Jealousy and rage from a member of her peer group would cause a horrific crime to take place on the night of June 23, 1984. A community would never be the same. The 1994 TV movie, Death of a Cheerleader, starring Tori Spelling and Kellie Martin would be based on this case. The highest ranking movie of 1994 would spark a debate about whether or not the murder of Kirsten Costas was planned. Or was it a jealousy fueled impulsive rage?
