If you’re like most online business owners, your business started with just you.
You doing the writing and you creating the graphics. You building your website, setting up your marketing strategy, figuring out how to create a Facebook ads campaign, and managing your social media accounts. You acting as customer service and bookkeeper and tech support.
And this could have gone on for years, with you doing everything.
Eventually, this shifts. You make enough consistent revenue or get enough clients to hire some help. And you now have a team.
But does that mean you’re actually allowing people to help you as much as they can once you build your team?
In my experience... No.
When I first started managing online course launches, I had a team of 10 to delegate to. Every capacity filled: Admin, customer service, copywriter, graphic designers, community manager, tech support...
With a team this size, and with everyone in their niche role, you would think it would be easy to delegate. But in the middle of a launch, in the middle of all the chaos and last minute changes, and even in the months during planning in the pre-launch phase...
I would tell myself things that I later realized were extremely common among multi-talented online entrepreneurs:
“I can do it better myself.”“It would take me less time to do it myself than to teach someone how to do it... so I’ll just do it.”
(These are lies that were holding me back, by the way)
Usually there are areas so outside of your expertise as a business owner that you can easily delegate them. Maybe the tech and graphics aren’t your strong suit so you delegate those every 👏 single 👏 time 👏. But there are usually 1 to 2 areas that you’re pretty good at, maybe even great at, that you’re putting off delegating to other people because of the learning curve or impatience.
I’m here today to tell you that: THIS IS HOLDING YOU BACK!

As humans, there are a lot of things we’ll do to procrastinate on the hard or uncomfortable stuff. We’ll avoid things that could take us to the next level and free up our time, because we don’t want to do them ourselves, and we’re too afraid to let someone else do them...
(And I know it can be hard to let go of all the extra work when your self-worth is attached to being busy or a hard worker or a hustler. But reminder: you’re worthy because you’re alive.)
Maybe you think I’m going too much into this. But understanding why you’re not delegating certain tasks, or why you’re choosing to do everything yourself, is important.
This is the difference between you being an employee of your business, and you being the badass powerful CEO your business.
You need to know that, yes, your employees won’t be able to do certain things as well as you can in the beginning.
It will take them longer to do it.
It’ll take time to teach them how to do it.
And it will take you time to correct them and fix errors.
But the time you put into delegating and teaching is not wasted. It’s an investment.
An investment in a future where your team supports you and is even better at tasks than you are.
Can you believe in that potential?
Each time you teach a member of your team to do something you usually do yourself, you’re buying future time. You’re buying time for yourself when you don’t have to do that thing anymore. Buying time to do you things that only you can do, things that will up level your business.

Creating the vision, connecting with the soul of your business, opening up potentials & portals of expansion...
...while your team ensures your business runs smoothly.
Does delegating seem more like it’s worth it now?
Good. Now, let’s get on to how we actually do it.
So how do you actually delegate?
1. First you have to commit to it.
Every time a task comes up that’s not in your zone of genius, commit to delegating it. Even when you don’t feel like it.
Start with those super common repetitive tasks that you don’t like doing. This will free up your time and energy to delegate more of your business, and it will free up more and more of your time for more important things - whether that’s a time for your business, travel, or just playing with your tarot deck.
2. Write out or record instructions.
Create step-by-step instructions that are documented and can be referred to again and again. This can be in a Google Doc, this can be with Loom — any tool you want to use that will physica...

If you don’t know what that is, planetary magic is working with the planets to assist in our desired outcomes & desired realities here on earth.

Hey there, magical business owners.
The question I have for you today is: Do you feel like your online launches have you on a roller coaster of burn out?
If you’ve ever launched an online course, program, or membership before... you probably answered yes.
Because launches can be insanely stressful. Something as simple as “I have this amazing idea that will absolutely change people lives!” morphs into a 3 month project with hundreds of hours of writing and webpage creation and video production... and that’s only for the course promotion!
That doesn’t even include the backend of a launch -- delivering the program, giving live Q&A calls, managing an online community, and whatever else you are planning on doing within the program to blow your customers minds.
If launching is a significant part of your business’ revenue, then you know it’s kind of like childbirth. (I have not birthed a child by the way, but the stories from my mama friends goes a little like this -- When you’re in the middle of another wave of contractions you may swear that you will NEVER do this ever EVER again. But then a few months later with your beautiful baby in your arms, you’re already thinking about the name of your next one.
In the middle of your launch, making last minute changes to an email going out to a whole bunch of people in just a few minutes... you may be feeling haggard. Exhausted. And just fucking done. Desperate to find another business model than an online business reliant on quarterly or monthly online program launches.
And trust me, you don’t want your next launch to have all that negative energy when your awesome new product is just barely out in the world.
So today, I’m sharing a tool that I use to make launches more in the flow for the businesses we work with.

Hey everyone! Welcome to business as a magical practice. This is our very first episode together so I wanted to set some expectations and share a little bit about me.
My name is Sam Garcia & I run Dirty Alchemy Digital Marketing - www.thedirtyalchemy.com - a digital marketing agency for magical businesses... And I’m also co-founder of Living Earth Systems - www.livingearthsystems.com - a regenerative agriculture design & education firm on the North Shore of Maui.
That being said... I live on a 170 regenerative agroforestry project on Maui so you may hear roosters crowing every few minutes, heavy wind, and all sorts of fun things that happen to be a part of off-grid living.
So if you’re here, you are most likely a magical person who owns a magical business. You’re spiritually oriented but still grounded in the material plane. You’re not just sitting on a meditation cushion 24/7 Thinking that you can chant your way to success. But you also know that your magical practices, your spiritual practices make a very real impact on your business and your life.
At Dirty Alchemy we work with multiple 6 And seven-figure online businesses solely in the spiritual and occult space and I’ve seen time and again the “miracles" and totally unexpected success that come from fusing business with the invisible cords that are uniting us all.
And as business owners we hold the power. Our work to integrate our conscious and unconscious, to heal ourselves, to clear karmic patterns and decide on better beliefs, all of this impacts our business. But you already know that.
So on this podcast will be exploring how our magical practices impact our business, but also how our business and work in the world impact our soul evolution and spiritual growth. Business in and of itself as a magical practice.
Most spiritual business owners know their spiritual practice impacts their business. That’s why you have your morning routine and meditation practice and you listen to the podcasts and read the books. But business has been, in my experience, more profound in my growth than any 40 day kriya or soul re integration session.
It’s in the extreme discomfort of sales and putting myself out there and doing all the things in not that much time that has shown me magic and torn me apart to emerge as a more powerful version of myself.
And as a digital marketer I can’t deny the mirroring of spells and copywriting. When you’ve put your full self into something, and vulnerable emotions in your sales funnel, when you’ve publicly revealed yourself for all to see and judge and have thoughts about... That’s when you step into the fire. That’s when your spiritual practice is truly birthed into the world.
Business in our modern world is so different than it once was. You really can’t go anywhere without being marketed to, by being influenced, and as our businesses become more of an outpouring of ourselves, the money we make becomes a very different thing... it means something totally different.
And we’ll be diving into all of this over time.
And going back a little further -- I got into marketing a decade ago with the intention of learning how to do it all for myself for some unknown future business that I would own. But on the way it became my business. I found a deep deep love for it. Perhaps the stars align that my mercury dominant astrology chart pulled me to unquestionably mercurial vocation -- Internet marketing.
But what I believe from my core is that good tools need to be in the hands of people doing good work. The money, the business strategy, the success, the recognition, the platform. All of this needs to be given to you. Taken by you. That’s so what drives me. Good people doing good work for The good of all. And being wildly compensated in the process. Sound good?
I’m so excited to start this conversation with you. I have some really fun guests lined up and lessons planned so that every week we are taking strides forward towards our vision, our desires, and the desires we don’t even have the courage to have yet.

You can choose which audience sees the event, too, so you can broadcast your event to people in your program or people who haven’t joined yet.
How does this help your online program?
As Marie Forleo loves to say: “If it’s not scheduled, it’s not real."
If your live broadcasts are not on your program participants’ calendars, do you really expect them to show up? If you’ve been in the online program game for a while, you probably already know the answer: nope!
Most people aren’t likely to add events to their calendar right away (I know I‘m guilty of this sometimes!). Even if they’re really excited to attend your live broadcast, if the responsibility rests on them to remember the date/time/link for it, they’re likely to lose track of it in the chaos of their daily lives.
Don’t put this responsibility in their hands.

A big issue in our world today is we are in a consumer-centric society.
Don’t get me wrong, I love consumption.
Consumption is a part of life.
If we didn’t consume we would wither and die.
We need to eat food and drink water for survival.
So do other animals.
Plants even need to consume to survive - they consume sunlight and water and nutrients from the soil.
And beyond basic needs, we as humans consume to keep our social networks healthy.
Commerce and trade are key in forming human bonds with each other and between larger communities.
But there’s no question that we’ve gotten a liiiiiiiittle out of balance with our consumption.
We see it in more than two-thirds of adults in the United States are overweight or obese.
We see it in the rise of fast fashion.
We see it in Some reports indicating we consume twice as many material goods today as we did 50 years ago & then the average American throwing away 65 pounds of clothing per year

Consuming is necessary. It’s a healthy thing to do on a physical, social, and even spiritual level.
We’re just out of balance.
So let’s talk about a solution.
Becoming a Pro-Sumer.
The Pro-sumer is someone who produces more than they consume.
I was consuming a lot of information at the time, without really doing anything with it. Lots of reading - books, blogs, whatever.
Without Producing anything.
I was miserable & felt so lost & now I can look back and really see it’s connection to taking in without creating. Without producing.
In this beautiful in flow and out flow of life.
We’ve all had that friend that is so enlivened by life. They create, they act, they do.
Overconsumption is the disease of our modern world.
It’s Stuck energy
Like a blockage in the river
Have you ever seen this?
I grew up in Michigan - the metro Detroit area- with a pond and a creek in my backyard.
Every so often branches would build up in a bend in the creek and block the water in the river and low and behold the water in that part of the stream becomes nasty.
Weird bacteria starts breeding, all sorts of random stuff gets stuck in it. It gets cloudy and murky and green. And it smells horrible.
Why is this?
It’s not like someone came by and added foul smelly poop water to that part of the stream.
It’s the same water as is flowing in the rest of the stream.
It’s just blocked.
And the lack of motion. The lack of fresh energy becomes rancid. Foul. Gross.
We need to both inhale and exhale.
We need consistent fresh energy moving through us.
When I was 19 I did a year long ashtanga yoga apprenticeship.
Apart of the study was a reading list.
I tried to figure out the book I’m referring to was when prepping for this podcast, but I couldn’t. So I’m just sharing a memory.
In a well known book written by one of the main dudes that brought yoga to the west...
He wrote about the importance of pranayama. The importance of the breath.
Working with the breath is the more advanced form of yoga. Where Asana / body movement is the first step, the initiation into working with the breath.
This teacher spoke on, in an oh so concise guru way, how breath is the most important nourishment there is, and the most important health practice there is.
It’s the first way we take in the world. From the moment we’re born
We sit on our couches & consume too much food without presence, we buy a bunch of stuff off of amazon
We keep riding the shoppers high
- Retail therapy is called therapy for a reason. It brings us pleasure, however fleeting, on a molecular level with pleasure chemicals being released in your brain with every purchase, every act of consumption.
Or we’re exhausted after a long day of work
We’re producing but meaningless shit - not the true inspiration birthed from our souls

One key to growing your business: Sales calls that give value
I definitely fall into the camp of not having any regrets because all of the fuck ups and failures and totally embarrassing & cringe-worthy experiences I’ve gone through has gotten me to where I am now...
But I did do a mental exercise the other day & ended up thinking about “What do I regret not doing sooner in my business”
And there were a good 5 things that I identified as key elements that would’ve gotten me to a successful, scalable, profitable business in 2 or 3 years instead of 10.
I’ll take you through all of them in time but one I really want to highlight today is sales.
It’s one thing that I know limited my earning potential - being unwilling to do sales calls.
Probably beyond even that was not realizing that I should be doing sales calls in the first place.
A massive perspective shift I had relating to this was going from thinking of myself as a marketer, as a freelancer, to thinking of myself as an agency owner - a business owner.
I see this over and over again with service providers. They love their craft - they love being a healer or graphic designer or coach, and they totally identify with being that identity - that service provider identity.
And it IS important to be obsessed with your craft - to think the work you do in the world is insanely important and transformative & so interesting & fun!
But to not identify first and foremost as a business owner is causing you to have a bottleneck in your business.
And a part of being a business owner is focusing on marketing & sales.
And a part of growing a business as a service provider is doing sales calls.
So many people want to avoid this - to go straight to launching a course or program instead of getting good at sales.
But the way to most easily grow your business & to hit success quickly in your business is to fall in love with sales calls.
Is that a stretch??
At least to be willing to consistently prioritize doing sales calls.
To get comfortable doing sales calls.
Maybe you call them discovery calls or initial consultations... but they’re still ultimately sales calls.
So let’s start with a little affirmation to open you up with this:
I am open to prioritizing sales calls.
I am open to sales calls being fun.
I am open to sales calls being of deep service to my potential clients.
The truth is that sales calls are money generating activities.
One big action item I have the magical people do in the Alchemical Business Intensive is to cut the fat out of their business.
To cut out the shit that doesn’t matter.
We can talk about systems and automations and delegating all day long. I love all of those things so so much.
And hiring a team & delegating things off your plate is a sexy sexy thing. It makes you feel powerful & like a boss.
But.
If you’re hiring & delegating and building systems for things that don’t actually make a large impact on your business then you’re just wasting time. And you’re wasting other people’s time. And you’re paying people to waste time.
Yikes.
So first - you got to get clear on what actually matters & what actually moves business forward in your business.
And that is on you.
You may be tempted to do research and take more courses and (procrastinate) in the most innocent and seemingly productive ways...
But if you have generated sales in your business, then you know how to make more sales. Just do more of the shit that worked.

Center yourself in your body. Can you sense the part of you that knows safety? What does that feel like in your body?
Imagine a time when you felt really, truly safe. If that’s hard to remember, then imagine a scenario where you would feel really safe.
Then turn the volume up on that memory or vision. Allow your nervous system to access this feeling of safety.
While you're envisioning this, begin to think about what you want to experience in life. This can mean sexually thriving, moving into the next level of your business - whatever you want. Activitely imagine that scenario while feeling the somatic safety. That will start to wire those things - your future goals & the feeling of safety - together in your nervous system.

For Ann, pussy is an archetype. It isn’t connected to anatomy, it’s energetic. This stems from the Doaist tradition that you don’t need to have the organ to really identify with it. Everyone can work with the energy of pussy.
Pussy is the portal into life. Being connected to pussy means being connected to the part of you that is pleasure-filled. Just like you might ask what your heart and gut is telling you, pussy is another wise part of us that we can listen to. Ann talks to her pussy, asks yes or no questions, and sees her as part of her team.
