Two weeks in a row again? Well get used to it, we are weekly baby! Hopefully we can keep up.
This week is Round 2 of V For Vendetta. We are debating, discussing, comparing and contrasting whether the 1989 Graphic Novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd or 2005 Film with Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving, Stephen Rea, John Hurt and Stephen Fry is better. Or maybe neither, maybe both, maybe just listen to this podcast and call it a day.
If interested in background, facts, tidbits, etc on V For Vendetta book or movie, please check out previous Episode, V For Vendetta R1 (Round 1).
Also, we are changing up our “rating system” (really there was none) but not sure if Scott is on board yet....

Twilight Part 1
Read VS Watch
01/26/23 • 43 min
Yeah we finally did it, we are talking about the epic story and movie that sparked the teen vampire rage...Twilight. Join us as we talk about this 2005 debut novel from Stephenie Meyer and the 2008 movie starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart that sparked an all-things-vampire craze.
Also, our apologies in advance, we have that serial “mispronunciation of names” issue in particular in this episode. So yes we know it’s not “Meyers” and “Patterson”. Sorry Stephenie and Rob!
So much to cover, so little time.

V for Vendetta R1
Read VS Watch
02/16/23 • 42 min
We’re back...from outer space, well maybe London in the late 1990’s. This week we are discussing the 1989 Graphic novel (or very long comic book) by Alan Moore and David Lloyd, along with the 2005 Wachowskis’ movie starring Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving, John Hurt, Stephen Fry, and Stephen Rea.
This fictional story takes place in future Britain after WW III. We meet protagonists, Evie Hammond and the mysterious, masked V. Are they heroes, rebels or something else, fighting against a totalitarian government?
Scott and DeeAnn start another match in their pursuit of whether the book or movie is better.
May be wondering what is the R1 after the title, well we have some exciting news and changes in our format. So listen and find out.
Big thank you to everyone who has reached out to us, reviewed us and let us know you are in fact listening. Our ratings and listeners have been growing and we love it! Very much appreciate it as we have been having fun learning and adapting with our new hobby. Thanks again and hope you enjoy!

Logan’s Run
Read VS Watch
12/01/22 • 50 min
We’re back! We took an extra week from our biweekly schedule for the Thanksgiving Holiday as well as DeeAnn caught a doozy of a cold (she still sounds a little “nasally” in this episode). But happy to be back and really enjoyed talking about this book/move selection, Logan’s Run! This is a Scott choice (clearly... Sci Fi) but a good one. So join us for this 1967 book and 1976 film, as we give some facts, background, comparisons and always stupid jokes. Mature content and DeeAnn still cannot control her naughty language.

Skipping Christmas & Christmas with the Kranks
Read VS Watch
12/15/22 • 46 min
Tis the Season, so we had to do a “Christmas Special”! We picked the 2001 John Grisham’s Skipping Christmas and it’s 2004 film adaption, Christmas with the Kranks. A fast paced, legal, conspiracy, thriller....no not at all. Definitely a break from John Grisham’s more popular legal based stories but it was timely for yet another round of Read VS Watch. Will the book or movie win? Neither, both, or just listen to us and call it a day.

Weekly, what were we thinking:) Actually, we love it and are having a lot of fun. Join the fun this week (and next) as we dive into Kiss The Girls, the 1995 Novel by James Patterson and the 1997 Movie starring Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd.
For Round 1 (R1) we discuss the author, actors, relevant tidbits, and possible RUI’s (IYKYK). DeeAnn and Scott are on the case behind the “controversy”with James Patterson. Detective hats on and opinions are given (as always) but all in good fun.
We hope you enjoy and thanks to everyone who has reached out, rated us, left us nice reviews.

Wowzer! Scott and DeeAnn are having quite a discussion on the 1978 novel by Elizabeth McNeill (Ingeborg Day) and the 1986 movie with Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke. Join us as we talk about the similarities and differences in this erotic drama. Should you read it, watch it, do both, do neither or just listen to this podcast?
Warning - there is very explicit adult content in this one, so listener discretion very much advised.

Carrie by Stephen King

We decided we needed to start from the very beginning when choosing a book/movie by the legendary King of Horror, Stephen King (we spelled the name right btw;). His first published 1974 novel and 1976 movie is quite the story and we look forward to you joining us as we give you some facts, insight, commentary, some stupid jokes and (hopefully laughs) for our last podcast in 2022. Happy New Year!
