York Ebor preview with Nick Goff
08/16/22 • 64 min
Rishi Persad and Sam Turner are back for the latest episode of Racing Weekly. Throughout this week's show Rishi and Sam are joined by professional punter, horse racing and Wolves fan Nick Goff to tell us about himself and give his view on the week's Racing talking points.
The guys start with a look back at the weekend's racing, headlined by the Hungerford Stakes where Jumby won in decisive fashion for Eve Johnson-Houghton.
There were also wins at the weekend for Luxembourg and Inspiral. The former came home first in the Royal Whip upon returned from a minor injury to just edge out Insinuendo with the Irish Champions Stakes next on the horizon for him. Inspiral meanwhile bounced back from disappointment last time out by winning the Prix Jacques Le Marois under Frankie Dettori who won the Group 1 at Deauville for the third year in succession
Next up the team look ahead to this week's Ebor Festival at York. The Juddmonte International is the feature on Day 1 with Baaeed stepping up in trip for the first time and a current favourite at 4/9 unsuprisingly.
There are two more Group 1s this week with the Alpinista in search of a six-timer in the Yorkshire Oaks on Thursday, and Royal Acclaim defending her unbeaten record on Friday in the Nunthorpe Stakes. Saturday's feature, the Ebor takes place on Saturday with the Earl Of Tyrone a market favourite with bet365 at 7/1.

Sam meets Alice Haynes, Newmarket's most exciting young trainer
With a background steeped in equestrianism, Alice Haynes is one of Newmarket’s new ambitious trainers who is rapidly establishing quite a reputation within the ranks.
For this week's episode of Racing Weekly we sent Sam Turner to her yard at Cadland Cottage Stables to talk about her burgeoning string, the pressure of running a Newmarket flat stable, her love of Chelsea Football Club and what the future holds.
The likes of Lady Hollywood, Strong Power and Lady Bullet have all showcased Alice's skills and those abilities have also caught the eye of some sizeable and influential flat owners who have wasted little time supporting the stable.
Her ethos is small yard, big results. Each horse is individually trained for their individual needs while love and care goes into everything Alice does.
