Protect and Serve06/12/23 • 72 min
Simon Bowden retired from Thames Valley Police as a chief superintendent in 2018 after a busy career. He worked in numerous operational roles, from response officer to public order commander.
Simon was the Local Police Area Commander for Bracknell before commanding the police in Windsor and Maidenhead and then moving on to be the commander at Slough and then to the National Police Chief’s Council, where he was based in thew Home Office. Simon now lives in Woolton Hill, near Newbury, Berkshire, where he is often out cycling or walking his dogs, always thinking about new story lines and plots.
Simon has a master’s degree in Applied Criminology, awarded by Cambridge University. His writing combines his policing knowledge with his academic knowledge, plus of course, a good dose of storytelling.
Simon had the idea for his first novel in 2013 but could never find the time to write. The coronavirus lockdown of 2021 provided him with the time to commit to writing HIDDEN BY THE LAW, the first of the Seth Hannen stories.
