Welcome to the third episode of the PropTech Talks - Founder Series. In this episode, we turned our attention to a visionary leader, Michael Brown, who is currently leading Skyline Robotics as the company’s chairman and CEO.
Michael's journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Since the age of 12, Michael followed his father’s business closely by helping with invoicing and attending board meetings. From working with Al Gore straight after his degree in Information Technology, to capitalising on emerging trends in the coffee industry, acquiring about 60 companies, and building the largest privately held independent company for office supplies, Michael is a living example of the advantages of “never allowing anyone to tell you that you can't get it done” and “surrounding yourself with people who are smarter than you and trusting them to make your business better”.
Today, Michael is the CEO of Skyline Robotics, the world's first at-heights industrial automation company. Originally founded in Israel, Skyline Robotics grew a presence in the US and is currently focussed on expanding to the UK, starting with London.
In this episode, Michael uncovered the strategies to propel businesses to the forefront of the industry, competing with established businesses, and effectively reinventing your business while recognising the opportunities of the future.

In the second episode of the PropTech Talks Investor Series, I spoke with Luke Graham. Luke is the Head of Research at Pi Labs, the first ever VC to target early-stage strategic investments in the built environment in Europe and currently the most active VC in the PropTech space.
Luke’s relationship with the built environment started “as quite a romantic one”. Luke first invested in property while focussing on the field of engineering in the Australian military. After pursuing further education in the built environment, Luke shifted his professional journey to the investment field and ended up starting his journey as an entrepreneur with First Link Property and he became increasingly inclined towards innovation and change. After exiting his start-up and moving to the UK for his Oxford MBA, Luke was onboarded by the university’s Future of Real Estate Initiative and later joined Pi Labs as their Head of Research.
In this interview, Luke shared invaluable insights into the hidden opportunities of economic shakedows for venture, the startups that will succeed as the industry matures, leveraging research and industry connections to effectively drive innovation, future-proofing buildings beyond 2050, and much more.
