Casey Collins is a 26 year Survivor of the H.I.V. Epidemic. He's also a Recording Artist who pioneered the provocative notion that an OUT GAY Male Singer could speak and sing freely to the masses long before that time would arrive. He still performs his music and we'll hear some un-released recordings during the broadcast. H.I.V. had an enormous impact on his career in the late 80's and 90's in Hollywood. In 2000, Advocate Magazine praised his debut CD, saying, "Collins takes male Diva-ness to new sonic heights...and introduces a world-class singer." He was nominated for 3 Gay and Lesbian, G.L.A.M.A. Awards and shared the stage in N.Y.C. with all his Queer Out Musical Hero's. Collins has a rich, historical perspective to share with us regarding the HIV Epidemic from it's start until today. He took one of the first HIV Tests available in the United States in May of 1985. He attended the very first of what became known as Louise Hay's "Hay Rides" in West Hollywood, sang for and supported the early work of Marianne Williamson and became part of the creation and integral, touring Staff of AIDS MEDICINE and MIRACLES. You can expect he'll offer his engaging ideas of what he believes Long Term Survivors might employ to become valuable assets to the present day Epidemic. He'll share with us his thoughts behind his one man anthem, "A Treatment Is Not A Cure." Hear Casey's story only on POZIAM RADIO. Sunday evening, 9PM EST.
