03/05/17 • 45 min

This Sunday March 5th at 2pm EST Robert and Aaron will be speaking with Claes Lilja. - listen here. Claes is the creator of Brotherhood Retreats, a program which has deeply impacted many lives through its multi-pronged, life-changing inner work process. Brotherhood Retreats is a 3-day retreat is an international gathering of gay and bisexual men who seek to enrich their lives through deeper insights, awareness and connections to both the community and oneself. We will be learning about physiological, psychological and spiritual tools to help create healthier and more fulfilling lives while forging bonds and friendships with other men from different parts of the world. The program will include informational and instructional sessions as well as exercises and participation by all the attendees with attention given to the full body-mind-spirit connection. We will also have plenty of time for social activities and relaxation. There are a variety of different techniques used at the retreat including meditation, transformational breath work, healing touch and much, much more. The retreat was originally created to help support those who are living with HIV, but over the years it has evolved to a spiritual retreat that is open to all men who are attracted to other men. As modern medicine is making serious advances, the gay community is finally beginning to heal the split between HIV-positive and negative men. We are thrilled be a part of that healing in whatever way we can support it. We all need each other to be strong, healthy and happy.

POZ I AM Radio - Casey Collins shares his story
play

05/17/10 • 60 min

Casey Collins is a 26 year Survivor of the H.I.V. Epidemic. He's also a Recording Artist who pioneered the provocative notion that an OUT GAY Male Singer could speak and sing freely to the masses long before that time would arrive. He still performs his music and we'll hear some un-released recordings during the broadcast. H.I.V. had an enormous impact on his career in the late 80's and 90's in Hollywood. In 2000, Advocate Magazine praised his debut CD, saying, "Collins takes male Diva-ness to new sonic heights...and introduces a world-class singer." He was nominated for 3 Gay and Lesbian, G.L.A.M.A. Awards and shared the stage in N.Y.C. with all his Queer Out Musical Hero's. Collins has a rich, historical perspective to share with us regarding the HIV Epidemic from it's start until today. He took one of the first HIV Tests available in the United States in May of 1985. He attended the very first of what became known as Louise Hay's "Hay Rides" in West Hollywood, sang for and supported the early work of Marianne Williamson and became part of the creation and integral, touring Staff of AIDS MEDICINE and MIRACLES. You can expect he'll offer his engaging ideas of what he believes Long Term Survivors might employ to become valuable assets to the present day Epidemic. He'll share with us his thoughts behind his one man anthem, "A Treatment Is Not A Cure." Hear Casey's story only on POZIAM RADIO. Sunday evening, 9PM EST.

POZ I AM Radio - Health Initiatives - Clint Walters
play

09/09/09 • 60 min

When Clint Walters was only 17 years old, He suddenly became struck down with a range of illnesses after completing my first year of A-Levels. Clint went into the hospital for what he was told was just some “routine tests”. His mum was sitting right next to me when the doctor told me the news “He was diagnosed HIV positive.” He knew his life would never be the same again, with no preparation whatsoever and very little information on HIV/AIDS – He honestly believed I was just given a death sentence. At that point in time, He did not have anyone or anywhere to turn to. He found a support group in London and traveled alone for the two-hour round trip every week. Even though he was the only young person to attend the group - the group members were older gay men - He kept going. It was all he had. Health Initiatives was founded in April 1999, as his answer to the lack in peer support services for HIV positive youth in this country. Young people living with HIV/AIDS are in desperate need of services encouraging their involvement. After traveling around the UK and working closely with a number of youth-run HIV organizations in San Francisco, California, He returned to London to set-up a youth project over here. Testing HIV positive at the age of 17 is a earth shattering and unimaginable turning point in any young person’s life. The young people HI supports are often isolated without even the support of their parents or family members. HI services are built upon a number of agencies and approaches to sexual health and young people’s involvement key to the success of programmes.
