Pops on Hops

Barry, Abigail, and special guest Jack Cornell discuss the newest single from Terry Anderson & The Olympic Ass-Kickin Team (or the O.A.K. Team), Chainsaw Repair Shop. We also sample Oktoberfest from 3 Sons Brewing Co. in Dania Beach, Florida, and Buzzfest from Infinite Ale Works in Ocala, Florida.

A detailed history of Jack’s musical projects and collaborators is available in our episode Bonus: Friendship Wins (Jack Cornell and Tripping Animals Brewing).

Buy Chainsaw Repair Shop, or pre-save it on Spotify!

The genesis of this episode was Abigail sharing Had Me at Get Lost with Dave Z on our last episode, 62: Dave Z on Pops on Hops (The Smithereens & Chicagoland Beers).

Clips shared on this episode are:

  1. Willie Mays by Terry Anderson & The Olympic Ass-Kickin Team (Barry’s favorite song off of National Champions)
  2. Fat Lady in the Stands by Terry Anderson & The Olympic Ass-Kickin Team

Chainsaw Repair Shop debuted on Mojo Nixon’s The Loon in the Afternoon on SiriusXM Outlaw Country.

Barry once again brought up A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs during a discussion of Leon Russell. Two episodes discussed Russell’s early work as a session pianist, including Episode 153: Heroes and Villains by The Beach Boys.

Jack recommended Brave Combo, a genre-bending, accordion-heavy band from Texas.
