Podcast Rodeo Show: Reviews and First Impressions of Your Podcast

Description

When Emily Gellis hears rumors of people suffering horrible side effects from a trendy diet she springs into action. Armed with over a hundred thousand Instagram followers, Emily launches a social media crusade to expose F-Factor and its founder, Tanya Zuckerbrot. It’s the start of a feud that will attract trolls, lawyers, and, eventually, national media all because of fiber. From Wondery, this is a story about wealth, wellness, and influence narrated by Casey Wilson.

Quick Comment

I picked this episode as I know two people who said they were listening to it. This somewhat builds up expectations. After all, this is a WONDERY show, so I'm expecting this episode to knock me out of my chair (and that may not be fair).

What I Liked About This Episode

The production and soundscaping was off the charts.

What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing

The pace was a bit slow for me, and what are the stakes? So these two people hate each other, is there a cage match to the death? Why do I care about these people?

Sounds Like a Cult

Description

Podcast Rodeo Show: Reviews and First Impressions of Your Podcast A podcast about the modern-day “cults” we all follow. Hosts Isa Medina and Amanda Montell ask the culty questions we’re all wondering... Do you think SoulCycle is a cult? What about Elon Musk stans? Or the Royal Family? What about spiritual influencers? Is Instagram itself a cult? We’re Sounds Like A Cult, a podcast that analyzes a different zeitgeisty group every week to try and answer the big question: This group sounds like a cult, but is it really? And if so, how bad is it?

What I Liked About This Episode

The intro using listener voices was different and it sets the stage of "Do I agree or disagree with these people?." I did like that once all the housekeeping was done, you got right to the point and answered the questions I was thinking.

What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing

Isa needs some mic technique training. Get a pop filter or windscreen. Three advertisements (4 if you count patreon) had me right on the edge of pressing next. In the end I wanted to hear more.

Bitcoin and Financial Independence

Description

Podcast Rodeo Show: Reviews and First Impressions of Your Podcast I break down the basics of crypto and show how to take part in the potential asymmetric risks and gains crypto has to offer. I'll help you understand how it all works and get started.

What I Liked About This Episode

You do a good job of talking to one person, and you get right to the point. You're doing a good job of sounding like a friend on the other side of the table who is just explaining things to me.

You had done some good research, and you had links in your show notes.

I liked the island story as it triggered the theater of the mind (which is going to be needed a lot when you talk numbers the theater of the mind gets cloudy quickly).

What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing

During the Gold discussion, I got bored and wondered if we needed all this detail. It's hard to make finance "fun" and "engaging."
