Playing with Research in Health and Physical Education

Dr. Williams comes on to discuss how he utilized the game sense approach to teach Buroinjin, an aboriginal game from Australia. This game is fast paced, and checks the boxes for MVPA, fundamental movement skills, physical literacy etc.

You can find Dr. Williams’ faculty page here: https://www.canberra.edu.au/about-uc/faculties/education/staff/john-williams

Buroinjin (Yulunga version rather than the ACT version. The latter involves hitting a single wicket inside a ‘D’). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTLdOeatLyc

Here is the link to Yulunga (a list of several games) PDF: https://www.sportaus.gov.au/yulunga
