Pokey LaFarge writes unique songs that truly fit in the modern age while calling back to the early days of American roots, a strong blend that can't be placed in any genre pigeonhole. We were lucky to have him and his incredibly talented band visit Pinball Studios in July of 2013 for a session, some pinball, and an interview. This episode features two songs from that session - 'What The Rain Will Bring' and 'St. Louis Crawl' - as well as Roo's interview with Pokey and his percussionist, Ryan Koenig. Hear what Pokey's pinball machine would look like, the bands he loves to listen to and play with today, and the challenges of being a songwriter in a world where everyone wants to give his music a label.
