Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein
Kylie Hein
Raise your hand if you've ever...
Placed your worth in praise, perfection, or productivity?
Felt like God was near, but couldn't figure out what he was asking you to do.

Dropped everything to help out a coworker, only to come home paralyzed by decision fatigue because you didn't touch your own to-do list.

#54 Chronic People Pleasing With Denise Jelinek
Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein
04/23/24 • 40 min
This episode was made with love and prayer for all of my dear chronic people pleasers and over-doers in mind! Do you find yourself saying “yes” before it’s even hit your system what you’ve agreed to do? Sometimes, we say yes out of obligation, sometimes because we don’t want to feel the discomfort of refusing someone, and sometimes, we are simply so used to pleasing others, that we do not consult the Lord or the desires of our own heart.
At the root of people pleasing, is often the sin of pride. We feel like we are not enough and we fall into self-reliance trying to be more. We strive to prove that we are indeed, enough.
In this episode I am joined by Denise Jelinek of the Weightless With The Holy Spirit podcast. Denise describes how high-achieving women just like yourself, go for the dopamine hit of being recognized before your ambition, long before you’ve considered whether or not you will find yourself overextended and exhausted.
Denise shares 3 quick tips that you will want to start implementing today!
- When you’re asked to do something, respond with, “I’ll get back to you.”
- Pay attention to what you need, and make sure that you get it! Yes, that means recognizing when you need to pee and not waiting 3 hours to go.
- Give yourself a luxurious amount of time when creating and responding to deadlines.
If you are a high-achieving Catholic woman who forgets to take care of your needs first, this episode is for you. If you are a personal-development junkie, this episode is for you. If you let everyone else’s needs suppress you going after your own dreams, this episode is for you.
Be A Difference Maker! This podcast is growing each and every week, but these inspirational tips and stories cannot reach the hearts of those in need without your help. If you have been blessed by the women on this podcast, please leave a 5-star review and share your favorite episode with a friend! Episode 24: 5 Reasons Why You Need To Stop Cutting Corners On Setting Boundaries
Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein
09/19/23 • 28 min
Hello Beautiful Souls,
Does it feel like it's that time of year where your limits are being tested? Do you find yourself hoping and praying to make it to the next weekend only to find that the weekend was far more stressful than the entire week? Are you struggling to make space for yourself?
In today's episode I am going to break down five of my top reasons on why you need to stop cutting corners when it comes to setting boundaries! As an overachiever with lots of to-dos, clear boundaries are not only important for your relationships with others, but they are essential for your overall wellbeing, and your growth in the spiritual life too! Establishing boundaries is a prayer habit we all should have in our toolbox.
At the end of this episode you are going to leave with clarity on why it's time for you to start investing in yourself by mapping out limits that protect the things and people you love most. You will be able to recognize how Christ himself kept boundaries in-tact without compromising the salvation of souls. You will understand more fully how boundaries, when properly ordered, can provide an opportunity for us to grow closer to Christ.
In the meantime, don't forget to sign up for my FREE WORKSHOP on Creating Healthy Boundaries. Monday, September 25th at 6:30pm CST, Abby Dufrene and I will be hopping on zoom to help you:

Episode 50: Don't Forget To Breathe With Sterling Jaquith
Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein
03/26/24 • 49 min
Are you the type of person who finds themself leaning on a shovel and praying for a hole? As in, you pray fervently for what you desire, but aren't sure about the work required to achieve it.
Or, are you perhaps, the woman who's already dug a multitude of holes and you're screaming out to God wondering how many are left before He sends help? As in, you are going all in on works and action, but maybe need to take a quick minute to ask God if he wants you digging in the first place.
In this episode, Sterling Jaquith and I offered help for both of these women! We discuss the honest reality of what it feels like to be a Catholic and a mom in the world today. We dive into the challenges and blessings of finding moments of silence and surrender as we swim upstream against a fast-pace and overstimulated society. We also tackle common tendencies busy Catholic women utilize to overcomplicate life, while offering solutions to learning to hear God's voice, even in the midst of "state-fair" overwhelm.
Come join us this week as we talk about the beautiful struggle of being Catholic, how to breathe when you feel like running away, and how to stop draining yourself by thinking about doing things, rather than actually doing them.

#64 Simple Productivity Solutions With Amber Curtis
Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein
07/02/24 • 64 min
Have you ever thought to yourself, “Something must be wrong with me?” Everyone else seems to have their life figured out. They know how to balance work and marriage and kids and prayer and exercise, and I’m over here like a dumpster fire on rollerblades just trying not to light everyone else on fire!
If so, you are in good company! Being swamped, stretched too thin, and questioning your life choices is something I think most women can relate to. I know I can... But the truth is, there isn’t anything wrong with you. Just because that system, that planner, that diet, or that parenting method worked for "everyone" else and it didn’t solve all of your problems, doesn’t make you a failure.
In this episode I am joined by Amber Curtis. Amber is the founder of Solutions for Simplicity. She helps overwhelmed women maximize their time and energy for who and what they love. So they can do more, stress less, and be happier. Amber is a professor, productivity coach, and devoted mom of four.
Listen in as we talk about time - priorities - and energy... Most importantly, Amber and I are going to break down why that new system you were so excited to implement at your house for summer may not be working out at the moment. Newsflash... it isn't you!

#65 Getting Comfortable With Failure with Amanda Rayhel
Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein
07/09/24 • 63 min
Do you struggle with putting yourself in uncomfortable circumstances, even when you know they are necessary?
Maybe you feel like you will be judged, you'll hinder your credibility if you don't have the right answer, or you'll look "stupid."
A few years back when I was still working in the classroom, I was asked to present to our diocese, a talk on getting comfortable with being uncomfortable in the classroom. Growing up as a self diagnosed perfectionist, I recognized the extreme anxiety in my students that emerged as a result of their discomfort for what they would deem as “failure.” This looked like not mastering something the first day they learned it. Getting a 98% instead of a 100%. Or, simply, not being the first to accomplish something or receive the most praise.
This observation went beyond my students. It wasn’t just them that struggled with not having all of the answers. I saw it in my coworkers too. Teachers who had an underlying fear that they might look stupid in front of their students if they tried something new and it didn’t work out, or they didn’t know the answer. Administrators who struggled with inner turmoil over doing the right thing because they knew they would have to endure the unending parent complaints no matter their decision.
And, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t struggle with a lot of these same insecurities as well.
In this episode I am joined by nurse, business owner, mental wellness advocate, and mom coach, Amanda Rayhel. She is going to breakdown how we can...
- learn to live peacefully in messy action
- ask for help, even when it's awkward
- embrace rejection
- get comfortable with being uncomfortable
- destress in a quick mom minute

"If you put your full day in God's hand, you're in for one heck of a ride. It is never going to be boring!" - Gina Morton
In this episode of the Persistence in Prayer podcast, host Kylie Hein welcomes Gina Morton, a professional declutterer, budgeting and mindset coach, and Catholic philanthropist.
Gina emphasizes how we can discover ourselves and our wounds by simply embracing the current existence of our personal wardrobe. By decluttering in our homes, we create space for what really matters.
Gina shares poignant stories from her experiences with various clients, highlighting the emotional and spiritual dimensions of her work. Through her narratives, Gina underscores the importance of integrating faith into daily life to create a space for God, fostering personal growth and community.
Gina also opens up about her family, including the loss of her son Teddy to leukemia, and how this personal tragedy deepened her faith and commitment to helping others. She demonstrates how surrendering the day to God's will not only brings peace, but excitement as well.
