When we mess up, we might feel sad or embarrassed, but these moments are important learning opportunities to help us grow. This week host Naomi Wadler is talking about resiliency: what it is and how we can bounce back after a fall.

We speak to Olympic Hurdler Sarah Wells, who founded the Believe Initiative, an organization dedicated to encouraging young people to achieve their goals. She talks about the barriers she overcame, and how she’s helping kids to do the same.

Raise Your Voice: What families can do to fight racism

Race is something for us all to understand and not to ignore, because no matter how far we’ve come, race and racism still affects everyone. That’s why this week on NowThis Kids, host Naomi Wadler is talking about race and what families can do to fight racism together.

We speak to Caroline Hu Flexer and Naomi O’Brien, who are part of Khan Academy: a non-profit organization that provides students and teachers with free resources to help kids learn about social topics like race. We speak to them about why it’s so important for families to talk about race and identity together.

How does race and identity affect you? We might look different, or come from different places but correspondent Luria Freeman explains that to get to know someone, we should always do it with an open heart.

How are you being anti-racist in your life? Let us know by sending us an email at [email protected]

We’re Always Connected: Dealing with loss as a family

This year we could all use a little more support, especially when dealing with loss. This week on NowThis Kids, host Naomi Wadler is talking about loss, ways to come together as a family and help each other during these times.

We speak to author Patrice Karst about her book ‘The Invisible String’ which helps us understand our feelings around loss and that we are always connected to our loved ones no matter where they may be. She tells us why we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about death, even though it can make us sad or scared.

Death is a natural part of the cycle of existence but as Correspondent Alejandro Alba explains, that does not invalidate the emotions you feel when you lose someone close to you, also known as grief.
