Have you ever hit a bottom in your life? Have you ever been at a point so low that there was nowhere to go but up? If this is you. If you have overcome tough circumstances, or challenging life changing situations. You are in the right place! “Nowhere To Go But Up” was born from my own life experiences. I am a survivor of my own bad decisions, trauma, addiction, narcissism, toxicity, prison, self sabotage and the list goes on and on. One day after over 20 years of struggling with all of the symptoms of a being broken person, in 2010 I decided to change my story.

In this episode I am talking to Lynn Espejo who was suggested that I have her on my show to tell her story. Lynn was sentenced to 45 months in federal prison. Here is a little bit about Lynn: Lynn Espejo lives in Sherwood, Arkansas. She is a wife, mother to three grown sons and a very old and spoiled French bulldog. Lynn has a BBA in Accounting and a BBA in Finance and an MS in Clinical & Mental Health Counseling. She spent many years working in the corporate business world and has owned her own small business. Lynn is a Christ follower. She also volunteers her time working with food pantries, the homeless, and those less fortunate. She and her husband, Pancho, volunteer their time helping with their church’s Share Your Lunch program. SYL, since its inception in 2017, has provided over 23,000 bags of groceries to individuals and families, as well as weekend backpacks of food to elementary age children, in partnership with local schools in the Central Arkansas area. Lynn was indicted in the Eastern District of Arkansas on March 2, 2011, however, that indictment was dismissed in May 2012. She was indicted on the same charges on October 8, 2014, after she refused to give up claim to monies seized by the federal government during her 2011 indictment, and dared to complain all the way to Washington, D.C., regarding the corruption and prosecutorial misconduct she experienced from staff at the US Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Arkansas and an Agent at the Internal Revenue Service. She was convicted on February 8, 2017, after an eight-day jury trial, and was sentenced to 45-months in federal prison, of which she served 27 months, before being released to home confinement during COVID-19. Her blog, Inside-The-Walls, started out as a way for her to vent her frustration at being indicted and convicted for a crime she did not commit, and what she saw as a broken criminal justice system. However, it soon became a voice against the corruption, fraud, and violation of inmate rights she witnessed while incarcerated at Federal Prison Camp Bryan located in Bryan, Texas. Many times, Lynn was subjected to retaliation by BOP staff for continuing to blog while incarcerated. During her incarceration, Lynn taught classes to other inmates, including classes on women’s value, worth, and self-esteem. She also volunteer tutored inmates with their college business classes, worked as a clerk in the Reentry Department, and took Cosmetology classes. She gained recognition from other inmates for her knowledge of BOP Program Statements, which allowed her to help many women fight false incident reports and retaliation by BOP staff. During COVID-19, Lynn spent almost 100 days in solitary confinement, and was quarantined in the Men’s Maximum-Security Special Housing Unit (SHU) at the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before being released to home confinement under the Cares Act. Lynn continues to advocate for inmates and their rights, and wishes to help all women realize their value and worth. She wants to bring awareness to, and expose the corruption, that is our country’s criminal justice system. Lynn’s radio show Inside-The-Walls & Beyond focuses on women’s issues as they journey through the criminal “injustice” system. Nowhere To Go But Up - #63 Lori & Sean Keepin It Real 3!!! Am I Covertly Racist???
play

09/11/20 • 101 min

In this episode we accidently end up down the road of covert racism, and white fragility when we expressly said in the beginning of the conversation that we were going to steer away from social issues in this episode. I'm not sure if we made it 10 minutes before it moved into that space and you can clearly see from the conversation that it wasn't intentional but you can also see that it kept going back there by both of us.

.

I'm not sure how I felt about my participation in this conversation. I noticed some old behaviors starting to creep out in the video in some of my mannerisms and facial expressions. I think I could have done better in how I responded to a couple of things. I think the concept of white fragility has some truth to it. Find out where you fall on covert racism spectrum.

Playing the sport of soccer is also known to develop life skills, such a self-confidence and teamwork. The cost of their experience is completely subsidized, and allows them to play in the league at no cost. * When Cassandra originally was approached about being an ambassador for the league, one of the biggest concerns was the present gender inequity. Many boys were sponsored to play but there were not currently enough girls sponsored to play in the league. *

Nowhere To Go But Up - #79 Prison|Drug Abuse|Triggers|Turning Points|Joe Martinez
play

11/18/20 • 77 min

Today on the podcast I welcome someone right up my wheelhouse, Joe Martinez. Joe joins me to discuss his gripping life story. From growing up a latchkey kid in San Antonio, Texas, to getting a twenty year sentence for a liquor store break-in, to finally quitting crime and getting clean for his family.

*

Joe also talks to me about his childhood, crimes he committed, shock probation, his turning points in life, major health issues from drug use, and parenting using his life decisions as teaching moments.

*

Joe Martinez is the host of his own podcast, The Talk From Cell Block, where he talks to current and formerly incarcerated people to give them back their voice.

*

Joe's Bio:

*

A man with a year of college (tried to major in English. I got bored)

I had my first run in with the law at the age of 10, and it never stopped. Rarely having to confront consequences for my petty to grand larceny crimes, I never understood the consequences of committing a crime and getting caught and being found guilty, until I was 17, when I took a guilty plea for a burglary and was given a 20 year sentence for it. After that, it was in and out of jail through out my life leading into my late 30’s. Now, I use the time on my hands to try to help expose the justice system for all the corruption that fills the court rooms in the united states, state and federal level.

Nowhere To Go But Up - #138 Is Medical Tyranny Going To Be The New Normal???
play

08/18/21 • 110 min

This conversation took place August, 13 2021. I had Dr. Hirschhorn on in mid May 2021 to talk about his book "The Pandemic Blunder" and why early treatment protocols that were having some success were being blocked by Fauci. Great info in that episode. That will be the next one I release across the podcast platforms. This conversation will be released as part 2. You can find the 1st conversation in the link below if you would rather not wait for the audio upload and watch it instead. * As I have been listening to my not MSM sources of information about inoculations and the people that are not inoculated, variants, inoculation injuries, ect... I felt that I needed to talk to my friend Dr. Hirschhorn again about these new elements of the bug, the jab, and the new DV. * * Our First Conversation: * https://youtu.be/u5XiPYZpEM8 * The Union of the Unwanted Dr.'s Roundtable Discussion: * https://rickyvarandas.com/.../union-of-the-unwanted-31.../ * * Dr. Joel S. Hirschhorn, as a full professor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, directed a medical research program between the colleges of engineering and medicine. At the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment and the National Governors Association, he directed major health-related studies. He has testified at over 50 U.S. Senate and House hearings and authored hundreds of articles in journals and on websites, plus op-ed articles in major newspapers. He has been an executive volunteer at a major hospital for more than 10 years. His newest book is Pandemic Blunder. * About the Book: * Pandemic Blunder contains considerable medical information and data to support a number of proven safe, cheap generic medicines and protocols that knock out the coronavirus when given early. Read about the pioneering, courageous doctors who have been using innovative approaches to prevent their COVID patients from needing hospital care and facing death. * The book includes many expert opinions and Real World Evidence from doctors that show 70 to 80 percent of COVID deaths could have been prevented—and still can be. Don’t be victimized by disinformation and propaganda. Learn how corrupt forces are aiming to make billions of dollars from expensive medicines and vaccines, and how hundreds of thousands of deaths could have—and should have—been prevented! In this episode I am talking to Portia Louder about her story and how it led her to being sentenced to 4.5 years in federal prison. Portia and I crossed paths after she reached out to me after hearing or seeing a guest appearance that I did on a podcast called "Louder Now". We had a phone conversation, set up a date to record and I had to cancel because I went back to work. Another cool fact about something we both share. Both of us have been to The Other Side Academy to tell our stories.

*

*

Here is a little bit about Portia from her:

*

Portia Louder, built a photography company that photographed 200 weddings a year in Utah, and surrounding states. She became involved in real estate in 2004 and was investigated and indicted for mortgage fraud. Portia was sentenced to a 7 year prison sentence, and served 4.5 years in federal prison, in California, and Minnesota.

*

She has documented much of that experience on her blog and Facebook page. She addresses addiction, loneliness, self awareness, and what it takes to move past mistakes and setbacks in life. Portia developed a love and sisterhood with the women she met in prison, and just finished writing a book highlighting many of their stories.

*

Portia has been married to her husband Chad for 24 years; they have 5 children and one grandchild and live in Highland Utah. She currently works at a treatment center helping women work through trauma, and overcoming addiction.

*

*

What bottom or life struggle would you like to share with our audience? * Taking full ownership brought power back into my life to look forward, set goals, and dream again. Accountability is freedom for me. Every struggle had the seeds of transformation. It's up to me to decide how my story ends and I want an amazing ending!

I am currently running through the livestreams I did and haven't put the audio out as an episode yet. I have a folder of almost 30 to run through. I'll add the date recorded to the title like I did in this one. So you will at least know what time period we are talking about if we mention any current events. This recording has been up on my YouTube channel since the day I recorded it. I'm just adding it to my podcast library.

I was going to add all of the links to these shows but 2 of them are no longer recording. Sam Tripoli is still rockin it! Just look his name up and you can find all the places he is at. Some socials got cancelled so any links I had from then might not be good now. So my bad....I have some great conversations to get out still even if some of them are from 3 years ago.

I created a poll over on Spotify and the question is...Do you want to hear the unpublished older content that I have? So if you want to answer that yes or no question head over to this episode on Spotify.

Thanks for listening! If you have any comments feel free to leave me a voice message on my Anchor podcast page and tell me what's on your mind. If I like what you have to say I will play it on an episode of the show. All of the links for the show and social media are there as well in the link below.
