We are in the age of pop psychology and social media therapy. We get our mental health tips from Tik Tok, Instagram or wherever and diagnose ourselves based on google searches. Although mental health conversations have become a major part of the zeitgeist, there are still core things that as a culture and as a generation we don't understand. This lack of knowledge is deeply hurting our wellbeing. So today we are hearing from an actual professional - Dr. Janelle Chase-Mayers, psychologist, teacher, and mental health consultant. She is here to dispell all the myths we hear everyday such as "therapy is a safe space", or "everyone should go to therapy" and lots more that you NEED to know if you want to better your wellbeing.

Quote of the day: "You cannot lead what you do not know" - Dr. Janelle Chase-Mayers

Ever thought, "I only buy fast fashion because it's cheap" or "I just can't afford sustainable brands"?
Fashion is everything—our style, comfort, and expression of self. But our planet is the ground we stand on, the air we breathe, and the home we live in. The fashion industry and climate change are two major topics that have been in focus for some time, but how do they impact each other? And how can our fashion choices help heal the planet? We explore these questions and more with Chemitei Janet, slow fashion educator and content creator.
Quote of the day: “We all wear clothes, so we have to give a hoot about our clothing choices and what that means to us and our planet.” - Chemitei Janet

On the rare occasion that I picked up a magazine to read, I came across a very interesting article from Grazia entitled "Generation Stagnation: All Work And No Pay Rise". This sent me down a rabbit hole of investigation into the nature of our current economy, the cost of living crisis and what this means for millennials and Gen Z.

Many of us put pressure on ourselves because we haven't achieved financial independence and still live with our parents at 24 but in reality this is how this generation is surviving in 2025. Inflation, wage stagnation, job insecurity, competition and uncertainty. All of it culminating to make a melting pot of stress for any young adult.

Quote: "The cost of living is going up and the chance of living is going down" - Flip Wilson

Today we are digging into this crisis and dipping into some solutions for us all. Please note that I am not a financial expert or guru in anything. I'm just your friend who did some research and am here to share. Let's go!

I've always been fascinated by art. From paintings and drawings in art galleries, to movies, theatre and songs that electrify and inspire you. Art has always been more than simply something to admire. It's a powerful force with the power to speak loudly.

In this episode, we dive into the vibrant world of art, but not just as it is. Today, we are looking at how art can be activism. How creative expression has challenged power, inspired movements, and told the stories that needed to be heard.

Michelangelo, Banksy, Bob Marley, Jonathan Larson and even Disney, all had something to say about the worlds they lived in. (spoiler alert: they're not the only ones)

Quote of the day: Art is not what you see, but what you make others see - Edgar Degas

Calling out leaders! Fighting for change! Saving the world! But are we? International advocacy has this allure of altruistic prestige, but when we pull back the curtain, the realities of diplomacy, bureaucracy, and desensitization become clear. The slow grind of global politics takes a heavy toll, leading to burnout and questioning the true impact of it all.
Are we actually making change? Can youth fix the system? Is there any hope? We find out in this powerful episode where Naomi gets real about her decision to step back from the world of international advocacy, sharing the untold struggles behind the scenes and exploring how youth can still drive meaningful change.
Quote of the day: "you tell me to give you a little bit more benefit of the doubt to angle my face in front of the camera and give you the perfect sound bite of hope and forgiveness... in your charity you make profit... and you tell me about a new UN proposition some politicians lie that you keep cradling between your mouth and your ear... and still 100 dead 200 dead 1500 dead and no negotiation no negotiation no negotiation will bring them back to life" - Ayisha Siddiqa

In this episode, we dive deep into the intricate world of stepfamilies. Joined by renowned psychologist Dr. Patricia Papernow, we explore the emotional challenges, misconceptions, and rewards of "blended" families.
From managing conflict and loyalty issues to fostering unity, Dr. Papernow shares insights from her decades of experience and her books on what truly works in stepfamily relationships.
Quote of the Day: "Blended families often begin with high hopes, but step couples can quickly face challenges with resistant children, differences in discipline, and conflicts over roles and finances—not to mention issues with ex-spouses. The term "blended families" can add shame to unmet expectations. The good news? A clear understanding of this territory can make all the difference, and we know a lot about what works to create a thriving, healthy stepfamily." — Dr. Patricia Papernow

Whether you’re a stepparent, stepchild, or just curious about family dynamics, this conversation offers practical advice for thriving in the modern family landscape.
