Hot weather for the first half of the weekend

A break from the heat is on the horizon, but we have to get through the weekend first. Saturday brings one more really hot day for most of the region, especially out west. Saturday afternoon brings some thunder shower chances for eastern North and South Dakota, as well as west central Minnesota. Sunday starts our cool down trend.

After a couple of drier days through the middle of the week, the south breeze that brought in warm weather is also looking to supply moisture for a few scattered thundershowers starting Friday night.

By Saturday, for much of the day the showers will stay rather scattered throughout the region and Sunday much the same.
