Our collective experience in the development & the aid sector has lead us to a deep commitment to seeing things change in a more equitable & anti-racist direction. We have created the No White Saviors podcast as a way for us to expand the conversations we have been having on social media and on the ground. We will be diving deeper into important topics and inviting guests who will share their own unique perspectives from the African continent & all over the world.

No White Saviors Podcast - State Sanctioned Terrorism w/ Carl Cavalier and D’juan Owens
play

01/25/22 • 54 min

In this episode, we are in conversation with the truth-teller and "whistleblower", Carl Cavalier, a Black police officer who is currently facing backlash from Lousiana State Police for holding them accountable and exposing their pattern of anti-black violence. Cavalier was raised on the West Bank of New Orleans & grew up in a low-income neighborhood.
As his first publication, Cavalier uses his new book (link for purchase below) “NWB” to offer insights from both sides of the criminal justice system – a unique perspective that is a trailblazer for this type of narrative. Cavalier is a strong advocate for justice and equality, and this book aims to start the difficult conversations. It compels one to act from an informed perspective, a point of knowledge and truth.
