In the last leg of the European triple-header, the teams headed to the Temple of Speed at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the Italian Grand Prix. Sprint races returned for the second time with Valtteri Bottas qualifying first. But in the main event on Sunday, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton's squabbling went too far as the pair crashed out at Turn 1, allowing Daniel Ricciardo to keep his lead and win his first race in McLaren colours, leading home a 1-2 with Lando Norris behind him.
