Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran Kansas City-based Jazz Trombonist Stan Bock .. He came to Kansas City from Portland, Oregon about 5 months ago and things are taking off .. On September 21, 2022 he will be a part of the Boulevard Big Band at The Warwick playing with a jazz heavyweight in Eric Marienthal .. Stan was born into a musical family and hs father was a cornet player and High School band director while his mother was a singer and pianist that also taught private piano students. After High School, he attended Fort Hays State in Kansas and went on to the University of Northern Iowa .. Along with performing, he is respected teacher and champion of jazz with over six decades under his belt .. We talk about this long career and his current home of KC in full ..
