Today on the show I’ve got an artist I’ve been meaning to get booked for some time. He plays the type of acoustic indie alternative rock that could best be described as the happy marriage of the Arctic Monkeys and The Beatles. Whether he’s strumming his fiddle at a galloping pace or slugging away like a Sunday morning porch jam, his music is deeply personal.
At times, it’s as if he’s sat with the feeling and is comfortable pumping the brakes and allowing the song to come out in a more emotive fashion, while at other times his music has an unmistakable sense of urgency; as if he simply can’t wait to share his story with the world.
One thing is for certain, he’s a solo singer-songwriter at heart and extremely talented. I’m happy to have him on the show with me today. Join me in welcoming Matthew Battaglia to The MOG.

Her life is like a Fairytale! Shelby Blondell is a staple in the Baltimore music scene. To avoid any cease and desist letters from Mariah Carey’s intellectual property team, I will be specific in touting that Shelby Blondell is the official Queen of Christmas on the Mouthful of Graffiti podcast. Shelby’s not only given a few Christmas classics her warm, folksy charm, but she also has the perfect holiday gift for your Baltimore [or beyond] loved ones. She’s here today to talk about what it is, how you can get it and the music she’s cooking up for the New Year! Join me in welcoming Shelby Blondell, the Queen of Christmas MOGS, back to the Mouthful of Graffiti podcast.

Mouthful of Graffiti - MOUTHFUL OF GRAFFITI - ALLIE POST, A "GIRL" ON HER WAY UP

Today on the show I’m sitting down with singer, songwriter and local inspiration, Allie Post. Allie has a soulful affect and isn’t afraid to tackle hot button topics with her soft, melodic voice and guitar. Much like a songbird, she’s always singing her heart out, whether she has an audience or not.
I recently had Allie onto the Mouthful of Graffiti Podcast LIVE at Reb Records and she blew me away with her candor, lyrical composition and professional performance. For someone just edging out 21, she’s got a very bright future ahead of her. Join me in welcoming Allie Post to the Mouthful of Graffiti podcast.
Special thanks to our latest sponsor, the Harford County Cultural Arts Board.
As always, thank you to Double Groove Brewing, Vagabond Sandwich Company, Music Land Store, Heather Sipes - Baltimore Decal Gal, [the gone, but never forgotten] Black Eyed Suzie's, REB Records-MD & Caprichos Books

Mouthful of Graffiti - MOUTHFUL OF GRAFFITI - GOIN' 'DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE' WITH KELLY OGDEN OF THE DOLLYROTS

On this show, I spoke with the ‘Awesome’ Kelly Ogden of The Dollyrots. Her bandmate Luis Cabeza was with us in spirit. Their infectious brand of indie pop/punk rock has covered the gamut from fun, in your face, rock n’ roll jams like “Everything”, “Because I’m Awesome” and “Brand New Key” to touching and unexpected covers like “Earth Angel” by The Penguins and Little Eva’s “Turkey Trot”.
Just yesterday they embarked on their ’Down the Rabbit Hole’ US tour which kicks off on July 14th in New Jersey at The Saint and wraps on October 9th in San Diego at the Kensington Club. I’m super stoked to have ‘em on the show. Join me in welcoming the hare-raising Dollyrots to The MOG, ‘Because, well, they really are awesome!’
Feed the Scene and Rappolla Entertainment are bringing The Dollyrots to Zen West on July 21st.

The band has won two prestigious Maryland Music Awards, including “Best Blues Band.” In 2018 they were been nominated for “Music Icon”. KBB has been voted “Best Blues Band” in the Mid Atlantic Region (12 years in a row), and was recently named “Best Band” by Baltimore Style Magazine.

“The Kelly Bell Band is exactly the kind of genre-bending, rule-breaking, and color-smearing group the music scene of 2019 desperately needs. The Kelly Bell Band lives outside of all the lines and freely mixes blues, funk, rock, metal, hip-hop, and more into a compelling fusion of musical styles.” – Mike O’Cull, Rock And Blues Muse

Their debut album, ‘Phat Blues Music’ remains one of the best selling releases in Mid-Atlantic region history. In addition to Kelly’s role as front man, Bell is a regular on area radio shows, commercials, television news and several television and movie appearances.
