Mother, Unrefined

Mother, Unrefined

Nicola Jess

A podcast designed to help women navigate the journey that is motherhood. Mother, Unrefined is THE place for raw and honest conversations (but with lots of laughter in between). The purpose of the podcast is to provide women with an honest and safe space to discuss their journey to and through motherhood. Each episode focuses on a different aspect of motherhood and includes discussions with like-minded women and health professionals on all topics, from fertility & conception through to pregnancy and toddlerhood. Co-hosted by two EX-business partners (Nicola & Jess) who "broke up" as friends and business partners after 5 relentless years of running a health and wellness business and have reignited their flame over Motherhood.

Welcome to our roller-coaster of emotions! Today we are talking body image in pregnancy, mum isolation, mothers groups (ahem, join ours here) and book clubs! Jess takes about 3 different pledges so let's see how she goes with that and Nicola is gearing up and getting ready for number two to join us in a matter of weeks!

Episode breakdown:

· Mother, Unrefined moments - they are fucken loud and a little reality check from our two toddlers

· Body image in pregnancy which lead to a discussion of movement in pregnancy (pledge 1)

· Isolation in motherhood and not feeling the vibe with other mums, we both share our experiences here

· Mothers groups and their cliquishness. How this prompted Nicola to start her own mothers group on facebook (pledge 2)

· Book club - something that was promised a few weeks ago but was left behind. How do you actually do a book club? We discuss that plus what we are reading right now and our thoughts on Colleen Hoover. Book club via the facebook mothers group coming to you now here (pledge 3)

We're halfway! Welcome to episode 3 of our 6-part series!
