Simon Cohen: “What If We Could Create Something Better For Ourselves?”

This week’s episode of “More In The Moni” focuses on the fascinating and hugely inspiring story of Simon Cohen. Throughout the music industry artists are all to often plagued with the work/life balancing act. In this interview Simon sets an impressive example, offering insights in to how to do just that.

Simon studied Theology at university and embarked on a traditional career in advertising. However, despite the status and salary, he found himself lacking happiness. Something was missing. Driven by a desire to make a positive difference, Simon took a bold step. He decided to start his own company called Global Tolerance. This decision opened up a world of opportunities for him. He traveled far and wide, representing remarkable individuals such as the Dalai Lama, Nile Rodgers, Mahatma Gandhi's grandson, and even members of Muhammad Ali's family. Simon had the privilege of working closely with some of the wisest and most influential people on the planet, providing his expertise in marketing and strategic advise.

In this episode I asked Simon about his personal journey to success. He shared, "I strive to offer hope by being a kind person. Throughout my life, I've always been curious and asked big questions about the meaning of life and what awaits us after death. That curiosity has never left me. After completing my theology degree, I had no clear path ahead. Despite not being religious in the traditional sense, I founded Global Tolerance at the age of 23. To my surprise, I ended up working with and representing many of the individuals I had studied during my theology studies. It was an incredible experience that prompted me to explore my own personal and spiritual journey and discover my purpose.”

Simon's journey has taught him the importance of aligning personal values with professional pursuits. He had experienced the emptiness of chasing superficial success and the fulfilment of working with purpose and meaning. Determined to make a positive impact, he embraced kindness and sought to bridge the gap between personal and professional spheres.

As Simon concludes his story, he leaves us with a powerful message. He believes that reconnecting with our true purpose, unburdened by material definitions of success, enables us to serve both people and the planet. It is through this unity of identity and purpose that we can make a real difference in the world.
