My guest today is Parker Ferguson, who is entering his third season in the NFL, now as a member of the Denver Broncos as an Offensive Lineman. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and a Hoosier native, graduating from Center Grove High School. Parker learned about yoga his rookie year in the league along side several other teammates when he was playing for the New York Jets.
Parker is such a cool guy and I am grateful y'all get to hear about NFL life and how he has seen the physical and mental benefits of yoga as an NFL player.

EPSIODE NOTES:
Highlight of playing in NFL:
-Living a childhood dream! Plus the focus and attention to detail of training and nutrition that is provided.
Lowlight of playing for NFL:
-Not guaranteed job security and so much of whether you stay or not isn't in your control.
Insight of playing in NFL:
-Most professional athletes aren't millionaires.
-It's important to be a well rounded as a person when you are an athlete.
-Enjoy where you are at in life right now. Squeeze every ounce of opportunity, luck, love etc out and live life to the fullest because you do not know when it will change.
How yoga helps an NFL player:
- Yoga is a tool in training.
- Helps you let go of the intrinsic stress you hold in your life and in your body
- It's a safe space for an emotional release. It can be a therapy tool.
- It regenerates physical body so you decrease risk of injury
- It opens up ankles and hips-which is a huge issue for athletes, especially big dudes like Parker.
- It feels amazing!! It cuts down on stiffness, aches and pains.
- Yoga helps you feel lighter on your feet.
- Yoga helps you become more mobile.
- Yoga benefits the mind...and it may time weeks or months to start seeing that.
- It helps block out distractions (noise, self doubt, neg or positive thoughts that take away from performance).
- It helps to have an instructor talk you through the mental so you can focus and relax like being a passenger in a car.
TIPS:
- Yoga will help you get to where you want to be...so don’t wait to lose a few pounds to start or think you have to act a certain way or think a certain way before trying it.
- Find a class that feels right to you; Where you like the vibe and it feels welcoming.
- Don't be intimidated. There will be all different body types and everyone was a beginner at some point.
- Use props like blocks and blankets to help you feel comfortable in the poses.

Being able to use fire revolutionized humankind. Fire provides warmth and light...and it can also be dangerous, unpredictable and painful. Social Media is the "fire" of our time that affects humankind in a revolutionary way every day.
It is both a tool and a trap.
What are the negative sides of social media?
- Misinformation, discord, division
- Hesitation to interact (we've been burned online before)
- Time waster
- Compare our reality to other's “highlight reel”
- Social Currency (attributing value to you/your identity)
- FOMO
- Harassment
- Overwhelm
Audit Your Use!
How did that make you feel?
How do we choose to act?
How do we choose to react?

someone, or something we are not. Our content should be
trustworthy and constructive.” – David A. Bednar

Social Media Goals
Remember, social media platforms give us a unique opportunity
to flood the earth with positive thoughts, imagery, and
messages.
As a parent, use tools to be a "First Responder" instead of a "First Reactor".
Look at these tools as a way to have open loving communication and a way to help guide teens in how to "use fire" safely.

Today's episode is for anyone who has had something hard or horrid happen or is facing a change or a hard truth to handle and you really just want to cry and say "life is not fair and I am just going to be mad (or sad or cry or...) right now." This episode is for anyone who is trying to avoid or escape from reality or trying to numb the pain.
You are not alone.
Isha Warriors is celebrating our first year anniversary and it has brought up a lot of emotions as I have reflected on not only my business but the lives of my family and friends and the ups and downs of this past year.
Trying to establish myself in an online niche for teens feels like this sometimes...
Tina Fey on Jimmy Falon (28 seconds)
And sometimes like I'm the Who from "Horton Hears a Who"
As I was sharing my frustrations with one of my dearest friends, she lovingly told me something that I will never forget...
"Staying in that space (teaching where you have been teaching) of comfort is feeding your ego, you need to focus on fueling your purpose..."
She shared insights from Jamie Kern Lima's story with me ("Believe IT") and today I am going to share those insights and more about WHAT YOUR PURPOSE IS AND 5 WAYS TO FUEL YOUR PURPOSE!!!
Interview with Jamie Kern Lima (60min)
Interview with Jamie Kern Lima (6min)
Your purpose is NOT:
- Your purpose is NOT the same as a role or a title you may have.
- Your purpose is NOT tied to an achievement you have made or a promise you have fulfilled.
- Your purpose can not be summed up in a single moment.
Your purpose IS:
- Your purpose is the daily pouring out into other people’s lives that only you can do in a way that is unique to you...
How to fuel your purpose:
- Turn down the volume of others. Intro to meditation.
- Put your intuition on a pedestal.
- Set backs are our set ups.
- Address your doubts.
- Check in with your why and don't be scared to pivot.
