Moms Actually

We are back with some special guests! Please welcome Tammy Franklin and Carrington Franklin-Nakwaasah, the wife and daughter of Gospel-music legend, Kirk Franklin! Tammy and Carrington join us to discuss all things sex and intimacy after birth and even drop some gems about how to build a strong relationship with your children.
Have you had a hard time keeping things spicy with your partner after becoming a mom? We are sharing some tips to help you get back in the mood. We know it can be so easy to lose the motivation, confidence and overall spark in your relationship when you are busy changing diapers, raising children, working, cooking, running a household, etc... and usually while on very little sleep.

Notes:

  • Body confidence after giving birth
  • Spontaneity of sex
  • Getting your sexy back
  • Generational differences and what we can look forward to as empty nesters
  • Mother and daughter relationship goals
  • What is “touched out”?

Most people have personal experiences with blended families; whether it's growing up in one, becoming a single parent that is navigating dating and marriage with a new partner, or being the new partner to someone with children from a previous relationship. There is a beauty in the dynamic of blended families and we hope our experiences can encourage women experiencing the phases of the blended life. Blending a family doesn’t have to be the nightmare that society makes it out to be!
Notes:

Flaws and All Ft. Tamar Braxton

1 Recommendations

On our season finale, Flaws and All, we discuss how our confidence and relationships were affected by our postpartum bodies with Singer and Television personality, Tamar Braxton of the legendary Braxton Family!
Women are always being hit by something as it relates to our bodies, whether it is the Freshman 15, relationship weight or our bodies stretching and swagging after pregnancy and birth. In this world, it is nearly impossible to not be highly aware of the changes in our bodies and how they may not match up to what we see on social media or television. While we completely support plastic surgery, mommy makeovers, etc. we also realize that the changes we want to see have to start in our minds and hearts or we will never be satisfied. The self-love journey is not always an easy one and we are all still walking through it! Have you had a hard time after birth falling in love (or like) with your body?
Notes:

  • Self love and affirmations
  • Comparing ourselves to other women and society standards
  • Plastic Surgery/Mommy Makeovers
  • Motherhood and learning to be comfortable
  • Community support and friendships
  • Single motherhood and dating
  • Understanding who you are
