TW: Sexual assault/rape, racism/racial trauma, Trauma/PTSD, religious trauma, Sexual abuse, BIPOC assault/trauma
This week we have Dallas (they/them) of Survivor’s Toolbox (@survivorstoolbox) to talk about being a survivor to sexual assault. This is a sensitive topic, and I want to encourage you all to only listen if you feel you are emotionally ready to do so. If you want to follow Dallas and their work, you can follow them on IG @survivorstoolbox or check out their website at survivorstoolbox.org for resources on sexual assault coping mechanisms, tools, and how to process the aftermath!
We also mention a variety of resources that I wanted to post here as well! Firstly, I mentioned the body feelings graphic. Here is the link to that and the graphic will be posted on my IG as well!
I also created a master document for mental health resources, specifically for the BIPOC community, last June and wanted to post that as well! In that folder is also another master document created by Micalah Webster and a master document of therapy worksheets. Please feel free to message me if you have additional resources that could be added, and I will add them in! This link is also on my Linktree.
Please rate us 5 stars and leave us a review! You can find all things Mindful Minds here. You can buy our sticker collection here. You can also follow us on Instagram (@mindfulmindspod) or on Tik Tok where I do a lot of deconstruction content (@mindfulmindspod). Join our brand new Facebook group!!

Contamination OCD in the times of COVID-19 - Ep. 13
CW: germs, contamination, COVID-19, OCD
This week I chat about my personal experience with contamination OCD. This is a very personal journey for me, and I hope that those who are close in my life listening to this get a better understanding of my mind, and that others who may also experience contamination OCD will feel seen, heard, & understood.
I also mention a few different resources that I wanted to link here! This is the link to the article that I reference by Josh Kaplan off of NOCD, the link to the NOCD website (https://www.treatmyocd.com), & the link to the VICE article I reference at the end of the episode. I also mention a Tik Tok creator who talks about contamination OCD. Her name is Allison Raskin (@allisonraskinbaby).

Doula Work & Birth with Davinah of @rootedbirthdoula - Ep. 15
TW: Miscarriage, trauma, abortion, pregnancy loss, sexual assault/violation (warning prior in audio), depression/postpartum mental disorders, racial trauma
This week we have Davinah (she/they) of Rooted Birth Doula Services (@rootedbirthdoula) on the podcast! We talk quite a bit about what it’s like during postpartum, the struggles birthing people and families go through throughout the birth journey, and how to be more empathetic and supportive as a community to birthing people and their families!
Davinah is a Doula in the Seattle area. They provide doula services for pregnancies, postpartum, pregnancy losses, and abortion! You can find her at @rootedbirthdoula on IG & on her website at bornrooted.com. They also have a birthing fund for Black individuals to help provide low-cost birth & loss support for Black birthing people in the Puget Sound Area.
We also mention a variety of resources that I wanted to post here as well! Davinah mentions a few resources including Amara, which is an organization based in the Puget Sound that supports families who are adopting, and Doula Match, which helps birthing people find a doula that works best for them!
We also talk a bit about the birthing crisis facing Black and Indigenous birthers. BIPOC individuals, but specifically Black and Indigenous people, have a drastically higher mortality rate during birth and pregnancy for both birthers and infants. This crisis is often pushed under the rug, underfunded, and ignored. Davinah and I talk a bit about this and resources to support these birthers, but I wanted to create a little list for listeners as well.
Low-cost/Free resources for Black Birthers AND places to donate:
- The National Birth Equity Collaborative (NBEC)
- Sista Midwife Productions and the Sista Midwife Directory
- Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA)
- Moms rising
- Birth For The People - based in Puget Sound
Low-cost/Free resources for Indigenous Birthers AND places to donate:
- Daybreak Star doulas
- Changing Women Initiative
