This is a special birthday episode...but not my birthday, my daughter's! She turns two this week and I thought this was a perfect time to reflect back over the last 2 years as a first-time mom navigating business, career, relationships, mental health, motherhood and so much more.
I wanted to share the important lessons I learned in case it can help another mom early on in her journey not beat herself up as much I did or a fellow toddler mom not feel so alone. This episode will share the raw, real, and honest takeaways from my journey into motherhood - both the good and the bad. It will cover topics such as:
- How to navigate all the pressures and different 'rules' we get told about motherhood and learn to listen to our gut and write our own rule book
- Not beating yourself up if you're not the Pinterest mom all the time
- The importance of taking care of yourself is a priority and not just a "nice to have" or "maybe later"
- Juggling relationships, friendships, and how to ask for help even if you don't have a big village
- Never giving up on your dreams
- Not feeling guilty if you decide to pivot your career to align with your new role as a mom
- Giving yourself grace if your experience of motherhood has been more challenging than expected and the importance of finding joy and happiness even in the tough seasons
AND so much more!
