Hello!
We've have been seriously influenced this week. Not by anything on social media but by all the amazing sculpture, ancient and modern that we've been seeing around Greece. Consequently, we will be focusing on Greek sculpture. We know that there are beautiful and important sculpting traditions in many cultures and we wish we could cover them all but that wasn't possible in a roughly 20 minute podcast.
0:56: Dr Dimos discusses bronze sculpture. What makes bronze? Why was it such a good medium for sculpture? How do you "sculpt" with bronze? Was there a Greek dark ages post the bronze age?
10:45: Dr. Lex dives into the world of marble. What is marble made of? How is it made? We talk all things crystal structure, geology and even about some marble recycling. We also get to discover the connect between marble and previous podcast subjects, rubies and sapphires!
19:50 - Glossary words!
21:09 - Our favorite part - fun facts!
