  • Law Office: 510-579-8608

My desire to practice law began after I graduated from UC Berkeley. While traveling in Europe after graduating, I discovered an innate desire to help less fortunate people. The experiences overseas helped me focus my career on social goals and leveling the playing field for those who needed someone to fight for their rights. I have fulfilled that vision by volunteering at legal clinics throughout the bay area early in my career.

During law school, I worked full time at law firms. It was through this work experience that I gained knowledge in a variety of practice areas. Due to my exposure in many areas of law, I was able to open my own practice immediately after obtaining my California state bar license. Now, I litigate cases in Family Law, Criminal Law and Civil Law.

The delicate balance of giving my time to the community and building a strong clientele base has proven to those who use my services that whether or not there is a financial incentive in my work, the quality is never compromised. I am proud to have provided zealous representation across all economic classes and look forward to helping you resolve your legal issues.

Marshall Hammons
https://www.esilverlaw.com/about/marshall-hammons/

Marshall Hammons has a proven track record of success in both misdemeanor and felony cases, including serious and punishable-by-life cases. He prides himself in working on some of the most difficult cases and litigation projects with a tailored approach to each case. In addition to the numerous clients for whom he has achieved favorable results, Marshall has successfully argued a motion to dismiss on a life case which resulted in a dismissal of the charges and life enhancements. Effectively saving the client from life in prison, the case ended up settling for only 6 years.

Marshall has argued successful motions to suppress evidence that resulted in dismissals. He regularly argues for bail release from jail over vehement objection by the prosecution. Marshall also has had domestic violence cases, DUIs, and theft cases dismissed by arguing for court diversion over DA objection, and saving the unnecessary criminalization of good people who made a mistake. As the firm’s lead “post-conviction” attorney, he also has been able to get countless probations ended early, reduced felonies to misdemeanors, expunged records, sealed arrests, even vacated pleas due to immigration issues, and has removed clients from the sex offender registry.

He graduated cum laude from U.C. Hastings College of the Law, and holds a B.A. English and a B.S. in Political Science from Santa Clara University. Before joining Silver Law Firm, Marshall was an integral part of Curtis Briggs’ and J. Tony Serra’s pro bono representation of California’s longest serving Death Row inmate. As an unparalleled example of police, prosecutor, and other misconduct, Marshall learned first- hand how the system is stacked against the accused, and how important it is to have a team that will fight your case.

In his final year of law school, Marshall interned at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office where he aided in the representation of numerous felony and misdemeanor cases and trials. Marshall will stop at nothing to get the best result possible.

Casey Kaufman:
We Advocate Across a Wide Variety of Matters

PERSONAL INJURY+VEHICLE/CYCLIST/PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTS

We represent people who are injured due to the fault of others or during motor vehicle, cycling, or pedestrian accidents. Successful actions require experience and creativity.

TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

We understand mild traumatic brain injuries and how to explain their impact. For those with moderate or severe brain injuries, we are able to identify the impact on their life, their loved ones, and the full scope of future needs.

PRODUCT LIABILITY

Defective products injure consumers all too often. Tenacious litigation often reveals that manufacturers knew or should have known about these dangers, but instead chose profits over consumer safety.

WRONGFUL DEATH

The loss of a loved one due to the fault of others is tragic for families and spouses. We understand the depth of such losses.

DANGEROUS CONDITION OF PUBLIC PROPERTY

Dangerous roads, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, or other areas owned or maintained by government entities. Dangerous features of a roadways or bike lanes can cause accidents or worsen injuries. These matters are difficult to prosecute and require experience.

PREMISES LIABILITY

Dangerous features of private property cause injury to people even when they are being observant and careful.

Elder Abuse

All too often our loved ones are mistreated by the facilities hired to provide for their care. These people are the most vulnerable in our society and special laws have been passed for extra protection.

Steve Fretzin

Steve Fretzin is a business coach who only works with lawyers, teaching them how to bring in clients and run their practices. He also hosts the “Be That Lawyer” podcast, where he shares advice from top rainmakers. After the 2008 recession, Steve narrowed his sales‐training firm to focus on the legal world and never looked back. He built the “sales‐free selling” method so attorneys can win work without feeling pushy, and he now coaches lawyers across the U.S. and in countries like Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and Canada. In this episode he explains why a clear step‐by‐step process beats a hard sell, how to spot clients who will drain your time, and why every lawyer needs their own “book of business” for long‐term security. Tune in to hear simple, real‐world tips you can use right away to attract better clients, charge what you’re worth, and feel confident about the future of your practice. You’ll leave with fresh ideas on networking, pricing, and building a career that works on your terms.

Brooke Lively
https://cathcap.com/
Brooke discovered her passion for helping entrepreneurial lawyers build their firms by working with her father. After getting her MBA in corporate finance and investments at Texas Christian University and a quick stint at a hedge fund, she found herself helping her family establish a new firm, which hit the seven-figure mark within eighteen months. Soon thereafter, she started talking to other lawyers who asked, “Can you do for us what you do for your family?”

This is when Brooke realized that most attorneys don’t run their firms by the numbers. They are making decisions based on their gut, and that causes a lot of anxiety — not to mention a loss of profitability. With that insight, Brooke started Cathcap, a fractional CFO company designed to maximize law firm profitability.

Since 2013, Brooke and her team have helped hundreds of firms make data-driven decisions to drive faster growth and more predictability in their businesses. As a CFO, Brooke looks at every part of a firm that touches the money — and that’s the whole firm. This eventually led her to become an EOS Implementer®. Through EOS, Brooke helps firms gain clarity on their vision, discipline, and accountability to increase traction and develop a healthy, functional leadership team.

Brooke weaves the technical knowledge from her MBA with her real-world experience to create speeches that have entertained groups worldwide, such as Entrepreneur’s Organization, bar associations, and conferences like PILMMA Super Summit, 360 Advocacy, and the Louisiana Association of Justice. She has written numerous books, including her international best-selling series From Panic to Profit. Brooke has been featured in Forbes, US News and World Report, and on CNBC. She also has a monthly financial column in Attorney at Work and is frequently requested as a podcast guest.
