Prior to this, he was working in various positions for the foundation since 2012 in Ethiopia; since 2014 as Dep. Country Representative & Director of Administration. Before that, he worked from 2009 – 2012 for the GIC (German International Cooperation) in leading function to support the development of an Ethiopian university towards international standards. Benjamin Freiberg is responsible for Finance, IT, Procurement & Logistics and Administration for the Menschen für Menschen Foundation.

The foundation Menschen für Menschen has been providing sustainable development cooperation in Ethiopia for over 40 years. In currently twelve project regions, around 600 permanent Ethiopian employees implement the integrated rural development projects together with the population. In doing so, the NGO interlinks around 380 measures in the fields of agriculture, water supply, education, health and income, enabling people to improve their living conditions through their own efforts. Menschen für Menschen was founded in 1981 by actor Karlheinz Böhm (d. 2014) on the show "Wetten, dass...".
