Gonzaga pursuing 7'1 Xavion Staton in 2025 class | AP Top 25 streak ends, can Zags get ranked again?

Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs don't have any commits in the 2024 recruiting class, but they are involved with a handful of top ranked prospects in 2025 which now includes Xavion Staton, a 7'1 center from Las Vegas. Staton has been rising up recruit rankings and is now No. 39 at On3. He reportedly considers the Zags among the eight schools most involved in his recruitment, a list that also includes Kansas, Arizona, and UNLV.

Alongside Isiah Harwell and Nik Khamenia, who moved up to No. 5 and No. 41, respectively, in the class rankings at On3, Staton would form a prolific 2025 recruiting class if the Bulldogs can land the trio - or even two out of the three.

We then discuss the Zags officially falling out of the Top 25 for the first time since March 14, 2016, a span of 143 weeks that is the tenth longest in college basketball history and was the longest active streak, which now belongs to Houston at 75.
