The Dallas Stars come from two goals down to defeat the New York Rangers 6-3 last night. Roope Hintz has a big three point night followed by Mason Marchment and Joe Pavelski who had multi point nights as well. After surrendering the first two goals, Scott Wedgwood shut down the Rangers as he mad 30 saves in the win and the Stars offense found its rhythm against a stingy defense and goalie in Igor Shesterkin. After losing on Saturday in a disappointing way, it was good to see Dallas step up against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. We found out during warm ups, the lines had been changed. Jason Robertson and Jamie Benn flipped flopped and both added a different dynamic to their new trios. Do you think the lines should stay that way or go back to the original trios we've seen for the majority of the season? Joey gives his thoughts and explanation on why they might be here to stay in the near future. Then it was announced during the 2nd period of the game, Mike Modano will finnaly have a statue in front of the American Airlines Center on March 16th. Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki of course had his statue revealed not too long ago and he will have the company of a 1999 Stanley Cup Champion.

The Dallas Stars get a huge win over the Carolina Hurricanes by a final score of 4-2 yesterday at home. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey celebrates one of the most complete wins of the season for the Stars against one of the hottest teams in the NHL. The Stars we're really good in different facets of the game, and more importantly closed out the game in the 3rd period. Jason Robertson scored the go ahead goal and Matt Duchene sealed the win with an empty netter. Joey explains how important that game was in giving him confidence in the Stars moving forward and winning games come playoff time. Roope Hintz tallied a goal and Jani Hakanpaa chipped in with two assists. All in all a great night at the AAC. The next topic is about the recent news of Evgenii Dadonov who will be out for 4 to 6 weeks with a lower body injury he suffered against Montreal on the weekend. Not only does this give Ty Dellandrea an opportunity to play on an every day basis, but Dallas may have to make a call up from the Texas Stars. Which begs the question, do we get to see Logan Stankoven of Mavrik Bourque? Joey discusses the options the Stars have moving forward with the Dadonov injury. The final segment highlights Jake Oettinger who made 32 saves in his 3rd straight win and 6th straight win at home which ties a career high. Otter playing some of his best hockey of the season makes the Stars a very dangerous team with the depth they currently have.

The Dallas Stars fall to the Minnesota Wild in overtime by a final score of 3-2 after another 3rd period blown lead on Sunday afternoon. The Stars issues continue to persist after giving up over 40 shots in back-to-back games and struggle defensively. It's Free Agent Friday on Locked On Stars! Joey begins the first Free Agent Friday of the offseason by looking at the top available Defensemen in the NHL this summer. Defense should be a top priority for the Stars this summer and if Chris Tanev does not resign with the Stars, Dallas will have to find a way to replenish their core with the hopes of getting over the hump next season. In the first segment, we do a dive on right shot Dylan Demelo who played for the Winnipeg Jets this last season. Demelo is younger and plays a very similar style to Tanev that could be a nice replacement if need be. In the second segment, we take a look at two options under the age of 30 years old. The golden child for Joey this summer would be Brett Pesce of the Carolina Hurricanes, the other possibility is an undersized Alexandre Carrier who grades out as the best defender for the Nashville Predators this season. The Dallas Stars and Pete DeBoer have been deploying a rotational fourth line as of late with Radek Faksa, Craig Smith, Sam Steel and Ty Dellandrea. In years past, the fourth line has been very consistent, but is it time that some guys must earn their way into the lineup. Joey believes it may be time to give the trio of Steel, Dellandrea and Smith some time to fester, it's been a small sample size, but that line ranks best in terms of goals percentage and goals against per 60. It's no secret that DeBoer wants more offense out of his depth and maybe he's found it. That conversation leads into a preview of the Vancouver Canucks. The first meeting was a 2-0 shutout in favor of the Canucks in a game that was dominated by Thatcher Demko. The Canucks lead the league in goals scored at 5 on 5 and have multiple players having phenomenal years. Stopping Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser is no easy task, but must be accomplished to take them down. Also, Joey gives his Shooting Star pick fro tonight's contest. Finally, Diamond Sports Group, who owns Bally's came to an agreement with the NHL to allow Bally to broadcast all Dallas Stars games for the rest of the season uninterrupted. Joey gives his thoughts on streaming and asks how you consume Stars games and if it has been easy or hard since streaming has become so prevelent.
