Nets trade away DeAndre Jordan, and get even deeper in the front court
09/06/21 • 32 min
The Nets were finally able to trade away DeAndre Jordan, clearing that contract off of their books and saving $47 million in luxury tax as well. They sent him, cash considerations, and a bunch of second-round picks to the Detroit Pistons for Jahlil Okafor and Sekou Dombouya. It was an interesting trade all things considered and can't be seen as anything else but another massive win for Sean Marks and company. Clearing out Jordan and the money paved the way for LaMarcus Aldridge to sign with the Nets and they brought in Paul Millsap as well. The guys will get to those two signings on tomorrow's podcast.

Paul Millsap signed and LaMarcus Aldridge returning, the Nets capping off a stunning offseason.
The Nets capped off an excellent offseason by making a couple of Labor Day weekend moves in addition to the DeAndre Jordan trade. For starters, they signed Paul Millsap to a veteran minimum contract. It is a fantastic depth-builder in the front court where Millsap will bring veteran experience, the ability to score and stretch the floor as well. He is an excellent defender as well. Plus, they brought back LaMarcus Aldridge after he was medically cleared to once again play basketball. The Nets went from being a little thin at the four and five to loaded with veteran experience and depth.
