The Nets continued through a rough patch for the team with their fifth-straight loss. This time it was to the Phoenix Suns on the road. Brooklyn got James Harden back for this one and we continue to see why the Harden/ Kyrie Irving pairing can really work. But they weren’t able to overcome a number of different things in this one. They struggled, at times, to contain Phoenix on defense with the Suns and Chris Paul picking them apart in different sequences. And the Nets had some questionable calls go against them as well.

But Brooklyn didn’t help themselves either, with a string of very bad fouls that showed a lack of discipline at varying times. In all, they lose 121-111 in a game the Nets kept fighting back during, but ultimately couldn’t pull it out.

After a Shams Charania report that the 76ers would be targeting James Harden in the offseason, the Locked on Nets guys look at the situation surrounding the Beard and what the future looks like for him in Brooklyn. After not signing the contract extension in the offseason, it became a little less clear if he was planning on staying with this team long-term. But would he really want to leave to go somewhere else? It could end up being the most important ongoing story for the rest of this year and into the offseason. The guys discuss what these reports mean, what it would look like for Harden to stay/ leave, and why fans should be paying attention to the situation.

And then they discuss Paul Millsap and the team agreeing to possibly part ways.

The Nets going into this season with a possible looming problem in the shooting department when looking at the whole roster. While Mikal Bridges will likely start at the nominal two-guard position for the team, it remains to be seen what kind of offensive punch they will get behind him.

With Joe Harris and Seth Curry out in the off-season, the Nets lost two of their best long-range shooters. And though the Locked on Nets guys like the moves Sean Marks made, none of them were major upgrades in the shooting department.

This could end up being an issue for the Nets this season and the three-point shooting in general could be well below league average.

The Nets showed up in Boston for the second half of the back-to-back and never really even got started. They ended up losing by a whopping 50 points, the second worst loss in Nets history. It was bad from end-to-end with Payton Pritchard nearly outscoring the entire Nets starting lineup.
