July 2nd, 2020 - Hikers in the Sierra National Forest discovered an abandoned campsite, with gear strewn about, near Johnson Meadows. Days later, hikers near that area reported seeing a bruised & barefoot woman on the trail, who refused help when offered. Over a month after the initial campsite was discovered, the same woman was seen by hunters off a remote road in the forest. In July 2013, experienced hiker and mountain climber Matthew Greene, was climbing with some friends in the Ansel Adams Wilderness Area of California when he experienced some car trouble requiring a few days of work. While Matt camped in Mammoth Lakes waiting on his car, his friends headed back home. After a brief call to his mother one morning before a day of climbing, Matt was never heard from again. Moore, a replacement lighthouse keeper, was rowing ashore to take his post. When he reached the lighthouse, the previous crew stationed there was gone. September 24th 2010, 39 year old Todd Hofflander joined some friends on a multi day hunting trip in the remote Idaho wilderness area called Hells Canyon. As an experienced hiker, Todd was well equipped to spend multiple days in the backcountry and had been on trips like this before. On the 4th day of the trip, Todd experienced knee pain and decided to split from the group. This would be the last time anyone would see Todd until his remains were discovered a decade later. On June 14th 2020, Erika Llyod set off on a pandemic road trip to Joshua Tree National Park, where she planned to camp. After she failed to check in with family for several days, she was declared missing on June 17th. Adding to the mystery, her vandalized car was found a day earlier by law enforcement on a highway near the park. Over the next several months, friends, family, and law enforcement continued searching for Erika with no luck. Strangely, during this search a shocking discovery was made relating to another missing persons case in the area. What happened to Erika and her car? Are the two cases related to each other? Join us this week as we try to piece together what happened to Erika Lloyd.

In the summer of 1988, Keith Reinhard, a Chicago sports reporter and an aspiring novelist moved to Silver Plume Colorado, a small mountain town in the Colorado Rockies. He opened a small antique store and hoped the slower pace of life would help with his novel. Soon after moving in, Keith learned of the strange disappearance of Tom Young, who had previously leased Keith's shop and went missing almost exactly a year earlier. Keith took interest in the disappearance of Tom and decided his book would be based on him. On August 7th, 1988, Keith set out to summit nearby Pendleton Mountain to help with writers block. Keith didn't return from his hike and was never seen again. Join us this week as we investigate the disappearance of Keith Reinhard. (Episode 43)

October 2018 - Connie Johnson, a former U.S. Forest Service wilderness ranger in Idaho, had the experience and training to navigate the backcountry solo and even survive if needed. After retiring from the Forest Service, Connie worked as a camp cook for Richie Outfitters in the area around Fog Mountain. On October 2nd, 2018 a hunting party Connie was cooking for set out on their hunt in the early morning. Although the hunting party was in radio contact with Connie the next day, transmissions were not clear, and this would be the last time anyone would ever see or hear Connie. When the hunting party returned on October 5th, both Connie and her dog were gone.
