If you've been on a journey of personal transformation, you know that transformation is not a painless process...
Doing the deep inner work can bring us to our knees. Breaking away from beliefs that no longer serve us can feel like we ourselves are breaking. But as special guest Amanda Kate says in today's episode, she'd rather go through the transformation than give up the (often challenging) path of healing. There is so much to be gained when we do this work - authenticity, sovereignty, choice.
As we unlearn and deprogram, we begin to see new choices before us and take our sovereignty back. Those moments when we see the pattern and choose something different, often define who we become.
In this episode, we explore:
- Unlearning the patterns and beliefs that keep us stuck in cycles
- Healing after an abusive relationship
- Recognizing the voice of our inner abuser
- Anger as a signal that a boundary has been crossed
- Reparenting our scared inner children
- The importance of REST on the healing journey
- Raising our self-awareness to end cycles of harm
- Having grace with our divine, messy humanness
In this episode, I'm joined by author and transformational coach, Amanda Kate. Amanda Kate is the author of Divine. Messy. Human: A Spiritual Guide to Prioritising Internal Truth over External Influence. And she has an extraordinary way of synthesizing the key phases and revelations along her journey.

We're thrilled to share our conversation with Dr. Jan Freed, a beacon of wisdom in the realm of leadership.
Dr. Freed, a keynote speaker, leadership expert, and author, is no stranger to the concept of legacy, bringing to the table her invaluable insights on a life lived with a lasting impact. We take a deep dive into her fascinating notion of 'Breadcrumb Legacy', dissecting how leaders can leave significant marks and foster a culture of wisdom, even amidst change and succession.
In the episode, we explore the influence and impact that leaders can have on others even in the way they end a meeting or leave a room. We also get into the power of feedback loops, both in personal growth and organizational evolution. We take a hard look at the dangers of ego and fear-based leadership, the venom they inject into work cultures, and the essential role of self-responsibility in shifting legacies.
Navigating change and grief is crucial in leadership today. We discuss the importance of metabolizing grief to foster resilience and collaboration. And finally, we delve into the qualities needed to foster trust and generosity in an organization, and how having an abundance mindset or servant leadership mindset can support the creation of a healthy culture.
About Jann Freed, PhD
Apart from being a successful leadership consultant Dr. Jann is the author or co-author of five books. In her most recent book, Leading with Wisdom: Sage Advice from 100 Experts, she interviews prominent leadership gurus such as Jim Autry, Marshall Goldsmith, Sally Helgeson, Dan Pink, and Margaret Wheatley. One of the book’s key insights: to be a powerful leader you must keep your ego in check. In other words, it’s hard to be a good leader if you’re not a good person.

What if sharing the authentic story actually got us better results? What if being real was more important than being perfect?
Jason Cercone joins me on the show today for a conversation about brand authenticity and storytelling. Although imposter syndrome might keep us too afraid to share the good, bad, and ugly, doesn't it also make us human? The journey to hitting our goals or building a platform like a podcast (which happens to be Jason's speciality), is not linear...
It takes putting ourselves out there even when it's scary and learning to befriend failure as a teacher. As Jason shares in the episode, it also takes commitment and perseverance. The myth of overnight success might be alluring, but authentic relationships of trust are built in the challenges along the way. To share the authentic story is not only healing for us as individuals, but it gives others permission to be their whole human self.
In this episode:
- Why authentic storytelling gets better results
- The importance of building trust as a brand
- The connection between personal evolution and brand evolution
- Why staying in integrity yields better results
- How play and curiosity keep us going when mastering a craft (like podcasting)
Meet Jason Cercone
With nearly a decade of experience in the podcast world, Jason Cercone has built his brand around the consumptive power of storytelling and simplifying podcast guesting. He helps leaders craft their authentic story and tell it with confidence as a podcast guest while simultaneously maximizing the value of each guest appearance and establishing thought leadership in their niche. You'll also find him hosting Evolution of Brand, a podcast featuring stories and strategies for building an authentic personal brand.

How do we tap into our unique genius so we can live a life of purpose?
If we are not living a life that is authentic to us, we lose access to our own vitality and creativity. There are many “templates” out there for what success should look like... but unless we choose to live by our own template, we might be living by someone else’s rules and never truly knowing ourselves.
This is exactly what Kevin Kepple helps people uncover. Inside this episode, you will learn:
- Why “success” doesn’t feel like success when it's someone else’s definition
- How being right (or the fear of being wrong) can keep us stuck in a cycle of avoidance and addiction
- Why burnout is a symptom of a deeper misalignment, and the many flavors it can take
- Why truly being in our gifts is the key to serving others
This episode is full of useful stories and anecdotes. Kevin’s story of building his own self-awareness, choosing a life of authentic purpose, and now helping others to do the same is an amazing journey.
Kevin is the host of the Unlock Your Freedom podcast, where I had the opportunity to be a guest, so if you loved this episode, come hang out with us on his show too!
