I am grateful to be back in the podcast chair today, and happy to be walking without crutches. In today's episode I chat about how I am finding myself thinking more about how we can help others, yet maintain a safe distance at the same time. When we are out and about doing errands, day to day life, we run into all kinds of personalities and situations. Until we have walked in someone's shoes, we simply can't imagine what they are going through, and sometimes we need to use our best judgment and know when to help, and when to walk away.

118 - Boots Up - Lessons from an "Air Cast"
What Did You Think of This Epside? Send a text!
Curveball - can you catch it? Yup - I caught it and I'm ready to kick it in the butt, with the good foot, that is. Yup, this little old podcaster found herself in a bit of a pickle this past week and is now sporting the most elegant looking boot with styling crutches. Ok, a little exaggeration, but I have been off my foot for a week and I'm learning a lot about how much I took for granted. Perhaps this is a humbling experience for me, and it may help me to once again question if life lessons keep happening for a reason. I realize now that I took so much for granted, and it gives me so much more admiration for the strength of people who are dealing with much more serious situations.

120 - A Time and Place for News
What Did You Think of This Epside? Send a text!
Newspapers and journalism have played a every important part in our lives. We are fortunate to have many dedicated people who work so hard to ensure we have knowledge of local, national and international events. Our method of receiving news is always changing with technology, but one thing that will never change is the real people behind the stories and voices. In today's episode I touch base on how much newspapers meant to me when I was growing up, and I share my gratitude for the people who work tirelessly to share important events. I also reflect on how fast stories can change if they are not told correctly, and give tribute to my friends at a local newspaper in my hometown where they are moving in new directions after 124 years in business.
