When Designer Gregory Ladner was in maths class his books were not filled with the workings of long division. What filled the pages instead were doodles of high-heeled shoes. These illustrations were the just the beginnings of a what would become a flamboyant life in the land of haute couture. His book, A Boy and his Bear, is full of recollections from life in suburban Melbourne of the 1950's to the world of high fashion.
