Let's Talk Thyroid

Managing our day to day stress is important for our thyroid health but what if we could remove some of the things that cause this stress?

A root cause approach to stress management? Makes more sense doesn't it?

In order to do this, we need to learn how to say no!

You'd think it would be simple. Just say no. But we know that it's not that simple. 

We know that many of us with thyroid issues tend to have personalities that like to take on more than we can handle, we bottle things up and don't always express our ourselves well. It's no surprise to me that most of us have trouble saying no!

This episode is just as much for me as it might be for you!

I cover questions like:

Why don't we just say no?

How can you actually say no and keep your friends and self-respect? 

We also explore the idea of setting boundaries, knowing our core values, not over-scheduling our days and lots of practical tips on how to actually say no!

Michelle's Thyroid Story

Michelle was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid in her early twenties and was put on medication but her thyroid antibody levels were never tested. It wasn't until about 25 years later she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's.

Trusting her instincts that she wasn't 'crazy' she kept trying to get help. This seems to be a common story for those not yet diagnosed with Hashimoto's... they know something isn't 'right' but have trouble identifying what it is.

Michelle has done a lot of inner work on her attitude, mindset and taken responsibility for managing her health. She's taken time to build a supportive 'team' around her - moving to a quieter place, some good friends, a doctor & naturopath to work with and loves our online Let's Talk Thyroid Community too.

It's funny because without her realising, she covers a few things we covered in last weeks episode too about saying no!
