In this week’s episode, Hannah and Ali are beyond excited to welcome the one and only Virgie Tovar! She's a plus-size Latina, author, TEDx speaker, academic, and a leading expert in the fight against weight-based discrimination. Virgie is all about teaching people the truth about fatphobia and the beautiful benefits of celebrating body diversity.Season 6 continues with Virgie sharing her incredible journey, from battling fatphobia at every turn to rediscovering her childhood love for her body, finding love, and building an awesome community. Her story is a rollercoaster, diving deep into how society's crap about fat bodies being unlovable affected her relationship with her body and sexuality, right up until she met her amazing (now) husband. How does fatphobia affect sexuality? How does the rise of Ozempic impact the body positivity movement? How can I support others who face size discrimination? This episode has all that and more! Virgie’s powerful story and advice will inspire you to embrace body diversity and tell diet culture to shove it. If you’re still on the fence about ditching diets for good, tune in with Ali, Hannah, and Virgie to have your mind blown!
