E61: Three Ways to Rocket Your Reach Towards Your Goals
Hey I see you out there ... sharing your message with passion and conviction ... working hard .... Celebrating the small victories. But I also see your frustration ... though you value every life that you touch, you know you have capacity to serve more people, but you aren’t growing as fast as you expected. Well, friend, having a great message or service or products is only half of the equation. In Episode 61 of Just One Simple Thing, you’ll learn about the other half, and three ways you can fuel the growth of your ministry or business.
I’ve worked with dozens of women in the early stages of their ministry or business. They all have big dreams and brilliant ideas.
But many of them aren’t taking off as fast as they expected, not selling as many products, not signing up enough email subscribers. And have hit a wall of frustration. Does that sound familiar?
It takes both compelling content and effective visibility to get where you are trying to go. I’ve noticed that a lot of people focus on the content, but not on the visibility.
They’ve fallen for the “build and they will come”, “content is king” message that at best is only half the story, and at worst, honestly just doesn’t work any more.
Your content and your visibility plan work together. Your content will attract the people right around you ... the ones who are already watching what you are doing. But if you want to attract people from outside your circle, you need a visibility plan to get their attention. Stellar content alone is not going to get you where you want go.
How do you create a visibility plan? Well, I think it has three parts.
First, you have to show up. That means going where your ideal person hangs out.
Second, you have to grow up. You have to do the things that make you uncomfortable to put yourself out there.
And third, you have to glow up. Take what you already have and make it shine.
ACTION STEP:
Pick just one thing in each of these areas ... Show up, Grow Up, and Glow up ....and make a plan to focus on it for one to two months. Measure your progress so you’ll know what is working and what isn't.

E62: Grow Your Visibility Over the Summer (Without Giving Up Family and Fun)
It’s summer and everyone is ready to go out to play. But you’ve worked hard to build your audience and don’t want to put it all on hold. If you want to roll into the fall with some momentum without missing out on all the sunshine and fun, Episode 62 of Just One Simple Thing is for you! So grab your favorite umbrella drink and let’s talk about staying visible over the summer.
This time of year I start hearing two refrains from my online ministry and business friends .... “I’m going to take a break for the summer.” And “I want to launch a new product in the fall."
Both of those are legitimate things to be thinking about and planning for right now. The problem comes when the same person says both of them!
You can’t disappear over the summer and expect to have a successful launch in the fall.
On the flip side, you don’t have stay chained to your phone and laptop and be distracted from all the family fun.
Ecclesiastes 3:1,12 says:
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens ...I know that thereis nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.
So in this summer season, let’s find some ways that you can be happy, and also do some good work to set yourself up to roll into the fall with some momentum.
1. Make a visibility plan.
2. What can you automate?
3. What can you repurpose?
4. Combine work and play.
5. Build relationships for Fall collaborations.
6. Brush up on your SEO skills.
Do you see the common theme with these suggestions? It’s not about creating more stuff and spending all your time on social media. It’s about leveraging what you have, expanding your reach and reputation, and setting yourself up for future success.
ACTION STEP:
Create your summer visibility plan. You don’t have to do ALL of these things. Start by looking at what your goals will be in the fall.
Make a plan for a few things that will support those fall goals.
