In this episode Daniel and Nate have an awesome conversation with Garrett Dickerson about Thrivent Financial, how the church handles money, and what the church could accomplish if we all stewarded our money and resources wisely and shared it generously.
Garrett and his wife, Kristin, live in Clarksville, TN with their three boys, Anders, Garron, and William. They worship together at the Hilldale Church of Christ, where Garrett serves as a Deacon for the congregation.
Garrett and Kristin are both undergraduate and graduate alumni of Lipscomb University. His professional career has led him through the fields of education, health care, and finance, now serving as Regional Development Director for the South for Thrivent. Garrett and Kristin are co-founders of The Grant James Foundation. The Grant James Foundation operates as the benefactor to ministries that are focused in three areas:
· Providing resources for and ministering to those families impacted by infertility,
· Serving and ministering to those impacted by miscarriage, while raising awareness about the emotional, spiritual, and physical impact of miscarriage, and supporting research to better understand the causes and frequency of miscarriage
· Supporting the choice for life and ministering through that choice, as well as ministering through the post trauma of an abortion, and providing advocacy for abortion survivors
Garrett also serves as the Vice President of YFI, a community impact non-profit based in Montgomery County, TN, and hosts his own podcast, “The Garrett Dickerson Podcast.”
