It’s a HOUSE PARTY, and you’re invited! In fact, you are the only one invited, because we totally skipped having a guest this episode in honor of bringing in the New Year together! Join your JTTD pals as we journey back in time and touch on each of our previous guests’ stories and highlights. We take the opportunity to field a few questions that have been sent in from loyal listeners, and Jake accidentally Jake’s takes a Jake’s take! So whether you burn a vehicle or toot a horn to take in the New Year, we sure are glad that your bringing us along with you. Enjoy!

JTTD 5: Family owned-farming with faith coming first! — with Katie Gruener

This week we have the pleasure of chatting with Western Washington’s resident “chicken mom,” Katie Gruener. Katie and her family own and operate Gruener Farms in Eatonville. Katie walks us through the past decade of her life, from first taking on a few chickens in her backyard, to moving her family onto a full fledged operational farm. Katie speaks openly about the challenges and fears that come with trying new things, and the gifts that come in staying persistent. We talk stewardship, morning chores, staying positive and raising hardworking kids.
Enjoy the first ever segment of Faith First, a small devotional at the end of this episode. Be sure to subscribe and review! Your feedback is always welcomed.

JTTD 7: Family business to (F)un-employment! — with Alex Haisch

It’s the first official JTTD Episode of 2022, and we are thrilled to host Edgewood WA’s longest-standing citizen (may or may not be true), Alex Haisch! Alex has spent a majority of his post-college years managing HOA’s and helping run his family’s electrical company, but today, he speaks honestly and authentically about his most recent season - referred to as “FUN-employment.” We talked in-depth about the power of language, and how the words we say and use can help dictate how we live. We also discuss the memory of a goldfish (shoutout, Ted), Jake and Alex’s seemingly complex friendship, what it means to consider the Lillies, and what’s next for our guest!
