Jed Talks

This week's guest is an American hero. He is a Navy SEAL veteran, elite sniper, a singer-songwriter, and has some incredible stories to tell: Josh Jakub
Jed kicks off the episode with some appreciation, gratitude, and acknowledgment of Josh's service to our country as a Navy SEAL. Then the two dive into Josh's music career, whether he wants to be an artist or songwriter long-term, and his preference of writing solo or writing in a group. Next, they get into Josh's military service. Josh explains how he got started in the Navy, the process of becoming a SEAL, and what the hardest portion of the training was. Then Josh shares some stories from his deployments, from taxi cab getaway cars in Columbia to nearly getting blown up in Afghanistan on multiple occasions. Josh also shares the one thing he wishes more people understood about people who have served in the military...
Jed and Josh close out the episode by looping back around to music. Josh explains how he got started in Nashville, when he realized this songwriter dream might actually be plausible, and finding the balance between work and play, in a city that begs for more play.

This week's guest is one of Jed's role models and someone who influenced the original spark for Jed's love of music. He was the lead guitarist for the band Boys Like Girls by the age of 17, and also knows nothing about lawn care: Paul DiGiovanni
These two kick off the episode by talking about their shared doctor, Dr. Web (aka the Internet), Jed's recent scare with sun poisoning in a Kroger parking lot, and Paul's lawn care business that he knows nothing about but has an epic name for. Then they move onto some BLG talk: making the band, tour stories, and the touchy topic of "WHAT HAPPENED TO BLG?!"
Next, Jed shares a redneck story from his childhood, Paul talks about his motorcycle days, and then they both share their dream car (which happens to be the same). Finally, they close out the episode talking about some of Paul's favorite moments as a touring musician, how he got into producing music, and he drops the hook that there might be some new BLG music on the horizon...

This episode is a fun look into Jed's day-to-day life with his girlfriend Ellen.
