Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar
It is a pleasure to welcome the Marshall Law Band to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
The Marshall Law Band is a hip-hop, rock, and funk music collective formed in 2017 by rapper Marshall Hugh and saxophonist Marty Thordarson, who were college roommates. The group includes bassist Evan Robertson, drummer Matt McAlman, guitarist Josh Richins, and keyboardist Zach Olsen. Driven by their shared passion for effective positive change and addressing social justice issues, the band wholeheartedly joined the local Seattle protests following the tragic death of George Floyd in 2021. After a week of powerful performances at the demonstrations, they channeled their experiences into heartfelt songs, eventually becoming their debut album, 12th and Pine—music veteran Jack Endino, who worked with legendary music acts including Nirvana and Soundgarden.
Since then, the Marshall Law Band embarked on two successful European tours and garnered attention from prominent media outlets, including BBC News, CNN, and The Seattle Times. The band also founded Fremont Fridays. Established in 2021, Fremont Fridays is a summer-day festival that serves as a gathering place for the community and celebrates local talent and business owners.
In this episode of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, the Marshall Law Band shared the stories behind some of the most streamed Spotify songs, including “Get Better,” “BLM,” and “Head Nod.” They also spoke about the evolution of Fremont Fridays.

Episode 236: WOWASHWOW TALKS 'The Algorithm' & Tina Turner

It is a privilege to welcome recording artist WOWASHWOW as a guest of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
Known as the Queen of the Bop, WOWASHWOW has a flare for the theatrical and a freestyling fluency fierce enough to threaten the male-dominated hip-hop scene and brings an “unbridled bravado thorough no holds barred, unapologetic rhymes.” On top of releasing her music, WOWASHWOW hopped onto Love Bailey’s song, “Hornatia,” near the end of 2022, and PAPER Magazine referred to her vocals as “commanding” and “hypnotic.” Following its release, “Hornatia” was an official selection short for the Cannes Film Festival.
The Los Angeles transplant has played over 15 shows in two years, opened for Snoop Dogg and Travis Barker, appeared at the 2022 Soul Train Awards, charted number 115 on the Hot 300 List, and was featured in Earmilk and iHeartRadio’s Arena Podcast. Her music has been on regular radio rotation on the City of Angels’ KQBH 101.5 FM. So far this year, she has been nominated to perform on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, performed at San Francisco Pride and Venice Pride Festivals, and debuted some of her work at the iconic LA music venue Hotel Café.
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, WOWASHWOW previewed her upcoming album, The Algorithm, which is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2023. She also shared the stories behind her songs, including “Class Enrollment,” “Pu$$i Power,” and “Rick Ross.”

Episode #238: Chris Wright TALKS FitLab & The Lean 365 Podcast

It is a pleasure to welcome FitLab Coaching founder Chris Wright to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
Health and fitness played a massive role in Chris’s life from a young age. He grew up playing various sports, such as rugby, tennis, and water polo. He grew up as a naturally skinny teenager with little self-confidence and low self-esteem. Once he got into the gym, it was a huge life-changing moment. After seeing his body’s transformation and his mindset’s improvement through properly structured training, he developed a real passion for the gym.
After spendings years as a gym floor personal trainer and completing a degree in sports science, Chris transitioned his services online to have more of an impact and work with more clients to help them reach their fitness goals. As his business grew, Chris’s time became more precious, and he started to let his standards slip in specific areas; he realized how important staying in shape, eating healthy, and exercising, was to achieving high performance and living your best life.
Chris Wright’s training and nutritional approach is not geared towards being the biggest guy in the gym. His goal is to be lean, fit, strong, and athletic. He wanted to go on holiday and turn heads to the beach any time of the year. Along with fitting into regular clothes and looking good in them! He stepped on stage once to compete in fitness modeling and realized quickly it was not for him. Chris wants to be lean, fit, and happy all year round without starving himself to extremes and trying to impress others. Chris launched FitLab to help busy men and women live this lifestyle, too, and live life to the max. He does not believe anyone was put on this earth just to be average and unhappy with how they look and feel. Life is for living, and Chris wants his clients to thrive in a body they love and are proud of!
In addition to FitLab, Chris is also the host of The Lean 365 Podcast. The podcast covers all things health and fitness. Each week, Chris takes his audience on a journey that tackles fat loss and building muscle, plus what it takes to build a world-class physique and, most importantly, what is required to stay in shape year-round!
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Chris Wright shared FitLab Coaching’s origin story, talked about his favorite episodes of The Lean 365 Podcast, and took us behind-the-scenes FitLab’s famous client photoshoots.
