I'm not a sports fan but for this one, I made an exception. If you've never heard of Rube Waddell you're missing out. This might be one of sport's most eccentric characters. He loved the game but not enough to stay put if something caught his attention during a game. Alligator wrestling during his off time? Check. Dropping his glove and chasing fire trucks? Check. Wandering off to join the circus for a few days? Changing into his uniform on the mound? Check and check. This man was as unpredictable as he was great.
